There was a story going around about how Saddam was planning to price his oil in Euros, and that's one of the reasons we attacked him, but I think someone here refuted that, saying oil was sold for whatever currency was presented, and converted on the spot by current values. The PNAC plan for world hegemony depends on controlling the oil the world economy runs on so some reason will be found to attack Iran. Israel says its anti-ballistic missile defense can knock down any Iranian counter attack, so the stage is set for a repeat of the sanctions that weakened Iraq in preparation for its conquest. Unfortunately this time the US attack will be on a fully armed nation whose allies are the very government we've installed in Baghdad. I wonder if Bush is smart enough to pull our troops out of Iraq before he bombs Iran? Otherwise they're sitting ducks for a counterattack. Ahmadnejad seems to have no fear of the consequences, and speaks for those in Iran who deeply hate America, perhaps to the extent to give their lives to strike against the targets we've left temptingly close.
