The real reason GWB won the White House

Saw a post in the Tips and Deals side of the forum listing the top 500 Billionaires in the world: [www.breitbart.com]

On the list, I saw this:
71. George Soros, New York, 75, $7.2, hedge funds

Isn't he the blowhard who took out full-page ads in almost every paper in the country vowing to spend every last penny of his fortune to ensure the defeat of Bush?

Most Bush voters wouldn't know George Soros if you put him in a souped-up Ford with Tide and Skoal ads plastered all over and had him drive around in an oval for 500 miles every weekend for 20 years.

So, no.

I don't recall him saying he'd spend every last penny. He *only* gave $15.5 million, last I heard.

After Kerry threw in the towel, despite raising millions promising to "count every vote" and despite widespread evidence of vote fraud, I'd be surprised if Soros ever gives anything to Democraps again.

As of last April, he was apparently still spilling the bucks on worthy democrats as they tried to stop Bolton. [www.aim.org].

Oh, and he apparently spent $23 million.

Interesting article, Michael. I haven't heard of "Accuracy in Media" before, but plenty of others have, apparently:

"As one might expect, "Accuracy in Media" is notable for its lack of accuracy... In an action that pretty much screams "out-of-court settlement to avoid getting sued for libel," Accuracy in Media's Reed Irvine spent a good chunk of his June 27 column apologizing for AIM's trashing of a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Apparently, the apology's appearance in Irvine's regular column was part of the deal as well, since it also appears on NewsMax."

AIM has quite a reputation as a mouthpiece of the far right:
"AIM's attacks on the person, instead of the person's work, is obvious in several examples. At CBS's meetings Irvine often attacks Walter Cronkite as a Soviet dupe... AIM has been a prominent supporter of the Chilean Lobby in the past. The Chilean Lobby supported the military government under Augusto Pinochet that came into power through a coup in 1973."

"How accurate is "Accuracy in Media"? NOT!"

George Soros, the carpetbagger who took down the Pound because he was pissed at Her Majesty ?

Uh huh. I'd rather take my political advice from Donald Duck.

Then again, listening to Refurb is like listening to Donald..
