I always enjoyed seeing the Bob Hope shows on TV, those that made it there.

Al Franken in Iraq?

No possibility of ulterior motives there. Noooooo …

I wonder if he sits around in airports and attempts to demotivate servicemen?

FS,

I wondered that before I started reading the article. Then, afterwards I wondered if the article was intended (painted) to put a good light on 'left' entertainers going over there. And, I was surprised to see no mention of media-powerhouse Rush Limbaugh going over there. But, he might NOT have coordinated with the USO, and he probably did not 'entertain' so to speak.

But, in the end, it seems like they are at least providing a welcome relief to those fine servicemen.

George Bush making six trips (+/-) to New Orleans after the @#$%& hit the fan. . . no possibility of ulterior motives there either.

And unlike "Franken" the only thing Bush said that was funny was "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job!"

What an idiot.

Anything that entertains the troops is good. I am sincerely disappointed more rock, country and pop musicians are not going over or maybe that we do not hear about. Where's Ted Nugent?

Bob Hope is going to go down in history as one of the Greatest Americans ever.

Ted's busy putting his money and his ass where his mouth is.

Some of the entertainers still willing to travel are die-hard true believers - rock musician Ted Nugent carried a Glock handgun to shows in Iraq last year and said in a radio interview that he manned a machine gun on a Humvee.

You all must be too young to remember that Al Franken started on Saturday Night Live as on-air talent and as a writer.

Its not about politics, its about entertaining those dying for our freedom.
