iMac power cord

Is it supposed to be really loose? I just went to move it slightly, and the cord jiggled and I lost power to the computer. It looks like it's supposed to plug in snuggly enough so the round disk is flush with the back of the iMac, but there's 1/4 inch gap. Is that normal?

You're saying it takes some exertion, like getting the RAM seated properly, right?

AlphaDog. I had the same problem when I set up my mother in laws iMac. You really have to push HARD on some of them to get it flush with the back of the screen, but it must be flush. Funny thing is, my new intel iMac went right in without nearly so much pushing. So, just brace the screen with your other hand or lay it down on a towel or something, but push till you get it flush. Good luck.

Yes Sir!, the well the plug slides into is tapered, some need more exertion than ohters, even the Intel Macs vary, just like the G5's

Got it! But it's too bad I didn't pay enough attention yesterday when it was already laying face down on the towel for RAM surgery.

Thanks!
