New iPhone 15 Pro in the house - 2 days ago

I really like it so far. Haven't played with the extra button yet. I like the size and shape. I went for the Black Titanium. The inexpensive case recommended by Wirecutter, Smartish Gripmunk, has a great feeling when you hold it in your hand. Also considering going sans case more often with this one.

I have two photo albums of fraternity photos from college. They have great sentimental value for me. I was shocked when I recently took a few photos out of one of them, and the light adhesive on the pages which had been there when I put the photos in in the 1980s is now extremely sticky and it was difficult to remove some of the photos. I want to move them to a new photo album but I’m not sure

I wish there were a way for me to play a movie remotely for my 85 year old mother, who lives five hours away. She doesn't have the skill set to launch Apple TV and use the interface. And broadcast options are awful, for the most part.

Fixed it! Did you know (I forgot) that there is a different way to reboot iPhones now, compared to the old days. I had to look it up. Volume Up & release Volume Down & release Then hold down the button on the other side for several seconds.

She is Verizon Wireless prepaid. My sense is the Verizon-affiliated store in town won't help; seems like they generally only help post-paid. Edit: that store is now closed. Town of 4000 people, no repair place. Looks like I'm driving to S. Georgia this weekend. Maybe I'll buy a new one retail and return it if I can fix the old one.

I got her to take it to the golf club next door and they couldn't make it restart. I told her to plug it in for a half hour and see what happens. She's convinced I need to go buy her a new phone. I suspect it's fine but am not sure what else to tell her.

I remember them offering me funds via several kinds of gift cards. Seems like I saw a page somewhere about which card to take. One option was a Delta gift card and then they had debit Visa's, etc.
