WD drives have their own minds or at least that's how they behave for me. I have a (non-WD) 4-bay case that "listens" to OS settings not to spin down, but in their as-shipped case WD drives do their own thang for me.

MP does not reduce linearly but reduces by the square because it's an area function, not a linear one. So the focal length crop equivalent (and all others) is double the difference of your numbers from the original, or ~12MP @55mm which frankly is still pretty good.

Lotsa great pics in there including IMO an excellent one taken with an iPhone. I do that kind of easy-cheapo astrophotography but don't use a camera app that allows any kind of manual control. That photo shows what someone can get with some patience, planning and knowing how to use their equipment.

If your Mini was an i7 quad core then the 2 CPUs are not all that different in performance, the 4 year newer one probably is only ~35% faster. But the GTX 1050 Ti GPU in the 2016 Acer Nitro is conservatively 10x the speed of the Intel HD 4000 in all the 2012 Mac Minis.

No, I have a big personal space and feel no need to touch anyone. Some people go in for the hug and that's fine, it's over pretty quickly. But it's situational, I use public transport on occasion and being jostled up against other people is unavoidable, no problem. Just wear long sleeves, some clothing-based distance is part of being prepared.

That one's the road to Hana, I don't even remember it's real name. We never made it to Hana when we last visited Maui, too many places to stop at along the way. That's crazy that it was the only way to the airport but makes sense. Everything is crowded by the shore and there are very few (no?) inland roads that you can use to bypass coastal towns.

When I visited my Aunt in Stuart, FL about 25 years ago and other family in Coco Beach 30 years ago, I would describe the mosquitoes exactly the same and the heat and humidity as being similar. If you were right on the beach, the breeze would keep the skeeters off you but move even one street inland and the air is heavy and unmoving and fulla bugs.
