The cold open was mostly a snooze, for me. I did get a couple of smirks, but Carvey was off his game. It tried way too hard. Oh, good. I'm glad it wasn't just me. Weekend Update was much, much better. There was a lot of some funny stuff there. I made a couple of minor tweaks, but your I can't abide the constant mugging with these two was spot on. Norm was still the best. His siby wurm - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

No complaints when it comes to delivery. Maybe we've been lucky. But their product Q&A section goes way beyond sucking. After they eliminated their usually helpful and at least informative customer Q&A section, one now has to post a question and hope for an answer. Well, AI was no help so I did. And I got an incomplete answer that at the very least prompted a follow-up from me. But thby wurm - Tips and Deals
As it happens, I just got back from grocery shopping and I'm looking at the receipt as I write this. One dozen cage free eggs: $2.99. I think they've been that price for a while now.by wurm - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
Thanks, Vision. I almost did the proverbial spit-take when I saw your Twitter post.by wurm - Tips and Deals
I'd forgotten about Haitia. Thanks for the larf.by wurm - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
There's so much freakin' content out there. I just finished watching a nearly half-hour interview with Alice Cooper about his hearing loss. Well, that was part of the interview, but I also learned of a free music school he founded for teenagers, and his charitable work with Starkey (it was their video podcast) bringing hearing aids to other countries, etc. He's a fascinating guy, and still goby wurm - Tips and Deals
Interesting. I just got a popup reminder before a backup a day or so ago that my iMazing had a free update available so I grabbed it. Now at 3.0.6.by wurm - Tips and Deals

Interesting. Thanks. Or.....I guess I could just set the lights up and see if they work and for how long. That's the real test. I mean there is Amazon's Free Returns policy.by wurm - Tips and Deals

As referenced in a previous thread, I ended up buying two sets of outdoor lights for decorating the fence; one set of string lights and one rope light. What I should have done first and didn't is try to get some idea whether a solar powered anything is viable in our front yard with all the tall trees around the house. I suppose I could try to somehow measure how much practical sunlight is availabby wurm - Tips and Deals
Modern dealers have taken all the "fun" out of negotiating. Because they don't care. As others have stated, they'll sell it to someone else. Or not. They have to get what they have to get. Or at least what they want to get. From you or from someone else.by wurm - Tips and Deals
I figure this thread was triggered by the baseball bat deal mentioned in the thread below.by wurm - Tips and Deals
A. I agree with Lux, above. B. Check those COVID test expiration dates. Yes, I know they've been extended, but not to forever. The USPS sent a reminder today that new ones could be ordered, so I did just that. Meanwhile I figured I'd check the ones we had in stock. I'm tossing out 5 two-packs and 4 singles. Even accounting for the extended expiration, the 'newest' ones expired 9/24. Others expirby wurm - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
I saw that and added it to my list. I'm reading Michael McDonald's book and he mentions Baxter quite a bit for obvious reasons. Boatloads of talent there. I watched Beato's interview with Rick Wakeman a couple of weeks ago. Also very good.by wurm - Tips and Deals
I haven't read all the posts but just wanted to say if you haven't returned the new Mini yet, I'll trade you straight up for my 6 month old M2 Mini. Hell, I'll even throw in a 22"monitor.by wurm - Tips and Deals
Good call. I was at 1.8.1. Just updated to 1.9.0. Thanks.by wurm - Tips and Deals
QuoteRecipeForDisaster Comments imply it’s 6 socks, not 6 pairs, yikes! Yikes, indeed. But the picture shows six pairs, and if you zoom in on the package it says 6 pairs.by wurm - Tips and Deals
Thank you, all. John B., I'll probably bookmark that link, as the five DVD trial would be fine. BUT, believe it or not, after posting, I did a bit more searching and found MakeMKV (which I thought was Windows only). It was a bit convoluted, but once I figured it out, it worked out fine and I made my copy.by wurm - Tips and Deals
One downside to upgrading is that previous free apps no longer work with my M2 Mini. I just want to grab a few scenes off the Rudolph DVD. Handbrake won't rip it. Every app out there with a free trial has a 3 or 5 minute limit (for which I can't really blame them). I don't watch movies, so I can't see dropping $30-$50 for something I'm going to use once. As a last resort, since I don't reallyby wurm - Tips and Deals
Quoted4 Wurm, was my suggestion of cutting up the chicken before pan frying in Post #4 not work out? LOL Oops. Sorry, I saw that and started to write a whole reply about the cutting board in the dishwasher, then got sidetracked. Yes, I guess you did beat Ombligo in that race.by wurm - Tips and Deals

FWIW, on the rare occasion I've had an issue, I've found there's usually someone a phone call away who can walk me through it. Then again, it's been a while since I've had a problem. Damn. I really shouldn't have written that.by wurm - Tips and Deals
Ended up with Ombligo's way. Except I had to use a second pan after all because I did the other ingredients first and it needed to simmer. Came out great.by wurm - Tips and Deals
Yep. It's back in the news around here. Lots of questions...about the crime and the trial.by wurm - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
QuoteOmbligo since you have to slice it up anyway, do so before you toss in the frypan. It will be done in just a couple of minutes with no guess about it being done in the middle. I was thinking the exact same thing. Thanks.by wurm - Tips and Deals
mrbigstuff, they're boneless, skinless, pre-cut 4-5 oz. filets. Your method, while probably wonderful, is way too much work for my end result as one part of another recipe.by wurm - Tips and Deals
Thanks, all. Forgot all about broiling, so I may give that a shot. Although it does seem silly to heat up the broiler when I could have finished cooking and slicing them up by the time the broiler is ready. If I were just having chicken breast as the entree, all nice and seasoned up, that seems the way to go. But it's a sweet and sour chicken recipe and it's going to end up with all sorts of otheby wurm - Tips and Deals
Recipe calls for "...cooked chicken meat cut into strips". What I've done in the past is just toss a couple of breasts in a pan and fry for 3-5 minutes per side. Seems to be the easiest way, but if there's a better way, let's hear it. Another recipe calls for boiling it, but it's such a pita to clean the pot afterward.
