We are doing the alternating holiday thing with the in-laws, so that means this year is our turn to host daughter and son in law. Wife's sister will be a usual fixture, and son will make the 9 hour trek north too. The feast for the few days kids are at the original home will include a bone in Standing Prime Rib, and my wife's wonderful red sauce that could used with either lasagna or stuffed shby DinerDave - Tips and Deals
QuoteDP After all that, the price of $32 for a small deep dish pizza actually seemed OK. WHAT? I was thinking that, must be a higher cost of living there than here in Western Mass. Daveby DinerDave - Tips and Deals

Quotegadje Grocery store called me today to say that they had it, but of course it was missing for over a day. Wow, how did they get your number? I did this once at a regional supermarket near me several years ago. I had a message on the answering machine at home waiting for me, I live 10 minutes away. They had all my info on file due to the store membership /discount card. Daveby DinerDave - Tips and Deals

QuoteMacArtist I also miss GeneL. We started chatting online when I bought a PM G5 at an Apple Store fire sale (remember those?). He pm’d me when he was feeling depressed and I tried to listen and give him feedback and discuss the problems my family experienced with depression. He was a part of why this place felt special to me. It was more than the camaraderie. More than discussing tech prby DinerDave - Tips and Deals

Quotehal Gene's story was like a personal horror story. He seemed like a good guy, but he ended up dependent on a woman he wasn't married to and her kids seemed to fear him getting in the way of their inheritance. They acted on this fear and pretty much ruined the end of his life. What a nightmare. QuoteMarkintosh Quotedk62 Does anyone have experience with VW ID4? Reading on Reddit, the ID.4 gets panned, mostly for reliability. One discussion on the "askcarsales" thread had salemen suggesting that the ID.4 had resulted in more buybacks than they had seen since Dieselgate. That said I see a lot of them around here. QuoteSpeedy Quotemattkime Lawnmower Yup, that is the most environmentally sensitive thing to do. Mow your leaves into bite size pieces and let nature do its thing over the winter. I have never raked but I mow for the last time each season before we get winter-long snow cover in order to chop up the leaves. 33 years and no leaf debris buildup. Pretty much what I do. Quotemattkime QuotegabesterBecause I have two adequate ICE cars in my family and no urgent need - beyond the intrinsic benefits of owning and driving an EV - to justify seeking an EV right now. And the longer I wait, the better the EVs seem to get, especially on the used market. I'd have no problem spending $15-20k on a used EV and needing to buy new tires ($1k), breaks ($1k), and battery ($5k),by DinerDave - Tips and Deals
QuotergG Quote$tevie Quotevision63 Amazon is cleaning their clocks. If I have to find the aisle and item myself, check it out myself, and bag it myself, I might as well buy it on Amazon. I'm old enough to remember sales clerks who would help one find what one was looking for and then ring it up. QuoteFritz those of you that have EVs, did your insurance go up/down significantly or stay the same? No change on mine, house insurance did not change with my 34 ground mount panels, maybe them NOT being on the the roof helped there? Dunno. Daveby DinerDave - Tips and Deals
QuoteN-OS X-tasy! QuoteTiangou Barra said that GM had originally planned to launch a series of newly designed EVs in entry-level segments at a total cost of around $5 billion. But given the popularity of the current Bolt – 2023 is already the model's best year ever for sales – it made sense to revamp the existing car instead.
