If I learned anything from watching many seasons of “All Creatures Great and Small”, it’s that once you see one or two entire herds of cattle being slaughtered and then burnt to ashes thanks to foot and mouth, you get pretty persnickety and more than a little cranky about the whole thing. ;)

Politics. I’d get to know all the players, the other money people, the annoiters, etc. Then I’d l start scoping out candidates, current, up and comers, the best of the retired, etc. And I’d play fairy godfather to the best of the best. Give a leg up to worthwhile candidates that could replace some of the goofballs wasting precious space and resources now.

I’m a huge J.K. Simmons fan, and liked him in this no less than other roles, but the overall story was too convoluted without a strong enough hook. Too many appearing and disappearing characters,seemingly disparate storylines that were obviously going to merge, but did so too slowly (for my taste, at least) and a mystery that just didn’t make me curious enough to keep coming back.
