Macworld included an iMac 2.66 in a bake off between different MBP models and an eight core Mac Pro and I was surprised how well the iMac held it's own. The Mac Pro was the winner of course, but the results went a long way towards soothing my fears about going from a G5 tower to an iMac instead of an Intel tower.

It has been so long, I have forgotten what Lost was about. Not that I understood it when I was watching it anyway.
Oceanic 6 off the island. Jack going nutso about leaving the island being a mistake. Kate has Aaron. Sayid's wife, dead. Sayid is Ben's assassin. Hurleyn in (and out, thanks to Sayid) of the boobyhatch. Hurley visions of Charlie. Jack finds you-know-who in the coffin.

I have a friend who checks in on my beasts when I'm away, but there have been times when they couldn't make it over. They're fine for three or even almost four days. I have a water bowl with a tank on it so they have about a week's worth of water, I leave them enough dry food for about four days each and two full, clean litterboxes. The lights are on a timer so they get a dark room to sleep in. A

No Firewire on new refreshed iMacs!! Oh nose!
*edit* dang.. forgot the smiley.
No Firewire on the refreshed iMacs is one of the few rumors in a couple of decades of Mac watching that I would bet money on. The way I read it, Apple has declared Firewire is a pro machine only feature. I'm still hoping to scrape together the money for new machines by mid-Spring, but it looks like "

I saw the preview for "The Spirit" yesterday. I generally like Miller's stuff, but the movie looks like way too much Miller and not nearly enough Eisner. Too bad.
Miller is too much in love with Miller. I had heard that the new trailer was less Sin Citycentric, but after seeing it, that's being very generous. I heard someone say that the trailer gives a few "nod

If it was working right up until it didn't start up; I would suspect the power supply.
The location of the power supply in the G5s pretty much meant that it was going to suck a ton of crap into the fans. Also, why no access to the power supply through the bottom of the case? You have to disassemble a good part of the computer just to get to the power supply.

It looks like the power supply in my G5 DP Power Mac (The 1.8Ghz model that supports 4GB of RAM. Late 2004?) has croaked. I did all the usual; replaced the battery, reset the SMU and the PMU, blew out every last spec of dust I could get to, reseated the memory and the video card. Nothing. Not even so much as a flicker of the light when I press the power button.

This experiment has failed as far as I'm concerned. Out of respect to Abrams and all the brilliant work he's done in the past I'll tune in to the next episode, but no promises at all that I'll stick with it past even the first commercial break. After that, barring a BIG miracle, I'm probably an ex-viewer.

Attributing a movie's success or failure solely to one actor? Maybe Actor X kept a bad movie from taking an even bigger bath than if might have otherwise. Maybe that big hit was an ensemble cast and Actor X was only a small part of that. Heck maybe it was the script that was amazing/crap.
It sounds like this was an amusing exercise, but pretty meaningless overall.

ONLY because its Abrams, I'll give it another shot next week. If this had come from anybody else, I would label it stupid, hack, badly acted bad television and would never tune in again.

That's the right sequence of events. Her husband left her for an ex-employee somewhere back in April of last year, I believe.
