I think Phil has lost weight. ;)
Maybe it's the water?
If so, they could bottle that and make more on it than on the iPod. Call it iFast or iLite.

"Today we're focusing on Macs", which should be music to the ears of many.
Well, shut my mouth. A keynote about Macs. If feels like a long time since we've had one of those.

My fear of colds has (almost) disappeared since a friend gave me this magic recipe:
Down cups of yogurt like there's no tomorrow + zinc + echinacea.
I start that routine when I feel a cold or flu coming on and I'm just a hair shy of bulletproof. Even if I get started a little late, it cuts the course of the illness down to a couple of days of very mild symptoms.

The plan under construction may have the money get to you directly by way of your paycheck; what would effectively be a cut to the payroll tax. The total could be from $500 - 1000 for individuals paid out over roughly three months.
"The credit would essentially work as a payroll tax credit equal to $500 a year for individuals and $1,000 for couples. And the money could be delivered fairly

Technically it's not "free", but the demo of GraphicConverter never really expires (I don't think), the nag screen when you launch it just takes longer and longer to end. So given that, I'd say GraphicConverter is the best program you never have to pay for.

There could still be some interesting stuff happening. I'll miss the Stevenote, if for no other reason than it was a nice little yearly tradition. I'll take a day to tour the show floor, pick up a t-shirt and maybe a cap for what well could be the last "real" Macworld. Maybe see some friends that I may well never see face to face again.
Maybe IDG will pull a rabbit out of the hat in

Things aren't looking good on a broader level, and there's probably about a fifty/fifty shot things could go really pear shaped closer to home. If they do I'll b*tch and moan and feel like crap for a time just like anybody else, but if at the end of the day I've still got two arms and two legs, I'm reasonably healthy, and I've got a roof over my head and enough food to eat, I'm good and can go on

what can happen??
WHAT CAN HAPPEN?!?!?!?!?
Well one thing that won't be happening is you getting a phone call to be the new host of Man vs. Food. The host goes around the country taking on those restaurant challenges to eat obscene amounts of food in a short amount of time. Now if it had been a case of Pop Tarts in an hour, then you might have had a shot at at least a guest host slot

Dammit! And now there's no more Macworlds and their Stevenotes. Can you imagine what an insanely great "Just one more thing" this could have made for? Talk about putting the "Touch" in iTouch. Long plane flights might never be the same again.

I used to know one of the best five finger discount artists ever. The guy was like a magician. He could lift damn near anything from anywhere. Leather coats, espresso machines, cigars four and five boxes at a time.
It caught up with him eventually though. He kept going past his prime and he started doing stretches as a guest of the state. Eventually he was down to lifting CDs and giftcards. It

I've (probably) got a bad power supply in my G5 tower too. A local tech has quoted me ~$350 for the repair, but I'm torn between putting that much into it or setting the money aside till I can finally make the jump to an Intel Mac of some kind.

They're having a big auction of BSG props in January. If you can't afford your own 30 foot long Viper, maybe you can get your significant other to squeeze a copy of the auction catalog into your stocking.
"The print edition of our catalog is a 319 page softcover book detailing the 800 lots of props, costumes and set pieces being auctioned January 17th-18th 2009. The catalog also includes

No competition but a nephew of mine is unlikely to last the weekend.
It's bad anytime but why do they seem to cluster in the run up to Christmas?

Some bird is writing a column for Macworld under the rubric of "Macalope"? When did this start?
Some part of me bristles slightly at an interløper invoking both "lope" and "Mac" for a moniker to hang around his own neck. For me, there is only one lope of any stripe in the Mac world, The Løpe. Still, this mook hasn't trod over the line by bandying about the "

Big tractor trailers parked right on the show floor with vendors selling all kinds of cool hardware and software at prices you could only get at the show. Vendors giving away tons of software and t-shirts and books and umbrellas and bags and whatever else they could get their hands on during demos. Booth babes. Useless giveaways with the vendors name printed on them that clicked and

This is...
Weird. I've gone to something like seventeen or eighteen straight expos in San Francisco. Maybe more. And now, the REAL expo is about to in all likelihood take its last breath. Macworld without Apple will become just another modest sized tradeshow as fast as you can blink. Blink again, and I have a feeling what we'll see in a year or so is the R.I.P. banners being hung.

I would rather be taken right away than have to life out my last years with Alzheimer's.
From my experience, by the final stage, the sufferer is really past the worst of it in a lot of ways. The earlier stages though can be hell for both the person afflicted and their caretakers.
As the Baby Boomer generation continues to age, the Alzheimers population is going t

Deke is great and, if he puts out a book on CS4 (He has one on CS3), I'd say David Blatner is just about as good.
