My wife bought a pad that heats up in the microwave for 3 minutes. It's the size of a rubber hot water bag; a gel insert is heated and then goes into a cloth outer bag. It stays hot for a long time.

Shades of Freedom Fries.
The Iranians have renamed Danish pastries as "Roses of the Prophet Muhammad" as "...punishment for those who started misusing freedom of expression to insult the sanctities of Islam."
I wonder if I have to order them like that at the Dunkin' Donuts?

A pen drive or two.
If you buy a wireless router, be careful about 2.4 GHz cordless telephones.
Also might want to look at college web site re whether they allow wireless. My daughter's college does not, so it was a couple of weeks before someone snuck one in. Everybody on her hall is wireless now.
Oh, yeah. We didn't buy Applecare and instead used a CC that doubled the warranty. I

The shower, clean off the blood, scene at the very end seemed distinctly non-medical to me. Didn't the Code Black episode start with those women in a shower (in George's fantasy)?

We have Tmobile; our house is on the edge of a tower signal, so your question is one I've wondered about as well.
FWIW, last year we had 3 different phones at one time on our family plan (Moto V300, Samsung E105, Nokia brick ?). The Moto and Nokia had a much better signal than the Samsung; as I recall, there wasn't any substantial difference between them.

One other consideration is whether you'll be able to recoup your transaction costs if you, in fact, move in 3-4 years. If housing prices stop their upward movement, you really might be in a bit of a hole when all is said and done. Of course, that depends on the local housing price movement, how much renovation/remodelling you do, and whether you'll use an agent to sell your house. Might be bet

This morning I measured out oatmeal in a 1/2 cup measuring cup, then 2 cups of water in the same cup. Assumed the water cleaned out the oatmeal, so I put it down by the stove and will use it again tomorrow--maybe for Cream of Wheat!

There's an article in this month's "SmartMoney" entitled, "Watch Out Google."
Barry Diller now owns Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) and, not suprisingly, says it's smarter than Google. SmartMoney seemed impressed with the limited searching they reported on.
I'll try it again; I've been googling for several years.

As a long time This Old House watcher...
Can he use some of that new flexible piping that clamps rather than solders/glues to go from floor to floor? If so, it might not be a complete tear-out, but small holes or no wall holes by fishing it from one floor to another.

I think I saw a generic drain adapter demonstrated on the "Ask This Old House" show a couple of months ago. Perhaps it's worth a call to a plumbing supply house.

The service is obstensibly for parents, employers, etc. As long as the person knows they're being tracked, I'm ok with it. As a parent, I'd like to be able to know where my dependent kid is. I'd also like her (and her boyfriend!) to know that I know. But, the boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife stalking thing is spooky.
I think that the key to this whole thing is that they send out periodic,
