Hey all (and sorry if this has been discussed, but I searched the forum up to a year ago), I have an (old) 2009 17" MBP that is doing most everything I need. Recently, I starting listening to my music library and noticed that I am getting static through the headphones (Bose QuietComfort 35 II) using the audio out port. When I hear the noise and press down on the top of the case on eitherby Diana - Tips and Deals
I replied to your earlier message. Better late than never. For those who don't want to go one page back, here is what I said: "Late to the party, as usual. i have arthritis pain in both hands. Late to the party, as usual. i have arthritis pain in both hands. I was tested for rheumatoid arthritis (thankfully, it came up negative); the other option is osteoarthritis, which can be determined by an X-ray of the hands. As the cartilage between the bones wears down (or is destroyed, there is some question about the exact mechanism), the bones begin to impinge or grind upon one another, maby Diana - Tips and Deals
I did. Then, after more testing, the doctor changed his mind. I had an episode of vertigo back in April of last year. I thought it was BPPV, a benign vertigo issue of the inner ear involving crystals building up in the inner ear and making one quite dizzy. It wasn't that at all, as the later MRIs showed. I had a small stroke. Apparently, there is a hole between the two sides of the heart, oneby Diana - Tips and Deals
QuoteDP I know someone posted it a while back but, what's that joke about British electronics (specifically Lucas)? It goes: "Lights by Lucas, Prince of Darkness". Anyone who owns one knows what I mean! Mine is a 1980 MGB, white, in need of an interior and some body work, and probably engine as well. It has also been garaged for over a year because it needs plates and insurance.by Diana - Tips and Deals
I would second the hearing loss over the vertigo. I got hit with what was believed to be BPPV on 2 January. I went to the doc-in-the-box, was diagnosed with a sinus infection and given drugs as well as a z-pack, and I then went to my regular doctor a few days later after the holidays. Fortunately, I was out of work only a few days. She yelled at me (literally!) and then referred me to an &quoby Diana - Tips and Deals
Where were you when you first heard about it? I was at work at a now defunct environmental testing laboratory in Austin TX when I first heard the news. I worked the rest of the day in a fog, in shock. When I got home the TV was on, and my husband and I sat in the living room floor and cried. It still makes me cry to think about it. My friends are here, and at the time my parents lived not fby Diana - Tips and Deals
Has the COMPUTER been labeled EOL, or the entire HPLC system been labeled EOL? Even colleges can do some amazingly foolish things. I have a project that is similar to what you are describing, and this is what I have found. The simplest thing you can do is to go old-school, with a strip chart recorder. If the signals are too high, and the trace goes off scale, you re-run the sample. This isby Diana - Tips and Deals
Normal caffeine consumption, limited to two cups of strong black coffee in the mornings only. I cannot take aspartame; I tried it when it first came out as a sugar substitute and found that I suffered from a bad case of "balloon head"--a floaty, bobbing kind of sensation--that was not tolerable, so I marked that one off the list of consumables. I've had a ringing sensation in both ears for a long time; it has never been diagnosed a tinnitus, but then I've not gone to see a doctor about it either. It also varies, as it is sometimes louder than at other times. A sensation of pressure in the ears? If there is it is very slight, and can easily be masked by the sense of pressure in the face that comes about with sinus issues. I've had allergby Diana - Tips and Deals
Has anyone experienced this? I mean the kind that sticks around for a LONG time, as in weeks or more, not just a few days and then spontaneously goes away. The story: On Jan 2 I woke up with the world spinning and my stomach heaving. I only wish it had been from a "drinking episode" in celebration of the new year/birthday or an episode of food poisoning, either one of which wouldby Diana - Tips and Deals

Making a meat stock requires cooking at a simmer for four to six hours uncovered on medium heat; cooking it for eight hours or longer at such a temperature and such conditions IS too much, especially with herbs in the mixture. Thus, turn it down very low for a longer cook time (keep the temperature above the "danger zone"), and put a cover on it. If you choose to stay up all night makinby Diana - Tips and Deals
Add a lot of water, cover it, and turn the heat way down low for the night. Continue cooking it. Stock won't be done until the bones get soft and give up all their goodness. When you get up in the morning, either the house will smell wonderful, or will smell burnt, all depending on whether you put enough water in the stockpot. Good stock takes a long time to make. Good luck.by Diana - Tips and Deals
That's the reason why the word autofocus was in quotes, because it ISN"T true autofocus. Additionally, the viewfinder is separate from the lens, so manual focus is also not possible. The automatic exposure system depends on the operator setting the dial to the ASA of the film being used, and the shutter speed is automatically determined. The manual tells me that as long as I shoot within theby Diana - Tips and Deals
The photos we have that were shot using this camera are "good" given that they were made into slides. They were digitized some ten years or so ago, so I have copies; even so, they show a considerable amount of fading already. Subject matter and framing of the pictures probably doesn't do the camera justice, however. I'll be buying some film and checking it out further. Thanks for theby Diana - Tips and Deals
It can't be as bad as expired biscuit tins…that were bulging…and got opened anyways. I thought I lost a finger there for a moment when that happened. The taste WAS a bit off.by Diana - Tips and Deals
Over the weekend Mom gave me Dad's old film camera, a Yashica Electro35 GT. This is the 35mm camera that was used to take our vacation slides back in the early 70's or so. My understanding is that it will "autofocus" as long as it has the correct settings. Mom gave it to me because, apparently, she couldn't think of anyone else who would want it (this opens a topic that I prefer to notby Diana - Tips and Deals

QuoteForrest Before you buy the Roamio(s), do further research on ctivo and pytivo at the tivocommunity.com I noticed the ctivo page claims compatibility with the Premiere and older Tivo's, and pytivo was released a few years ago. In my opinion - there's nothing like Tivo's ease of use and reliability. If you ever decide to leave cable, all the shows are still yours (though protected conteby Diana - Tips and Deals
I dipped into the TiVo "thing", and this is what i found. Yes, the TiVo service fees are rather steep. I have the third generation box with two tuners, and the premier (4 tuners), both with lifetime subscription. I found that TiVo gave me a discount (about $100 or so) on the second lifetime subscription since I already had one of their products. I bought the first one about someby Diana - Tips and Deals
I currently take them. I have allergies to grass, weeds, trees, mold, cats… yeah. It was so bad that I stayed indoors most of the time. If someone was mowing the yard, I had to stay indoors. I have used both OpenOffice and LibreOffice as MSO replacements. The question you may want to ask is how much they rely on MSO: what kinds of documents they generate, and whether or not they swap around said documents to various people to modify before getting it into its final form. Such long distance techniques would work just as well from satellite as from plane. Some spectroscopic techniques are readily used in astronomy, where the distances are not in miles but light years. This is going to be pretty long, but first I have to set up some things. I need to make sure I am explaining it to the depth and level to make my point. According to their website, they are using “airborne imaging spectroscopy” for multispectral remote sensing. They supposedly use satellites currently in orbit to do this imaging. Let's look at this.
