Apparently he has been doing all of the on-line financial stuff wirelessly through the MacBook since he finally retired the old eMac. The router is old enough to have been discontinued by Motorola! Imagine that. Flashing to either the latest firmware version requires either a Windows machine (ugh!) as the files from Motorola are a .exe, or a linux box (they also gave the files as .tar balls).
