Get the data backed up. All of it; each program should be able to read GEDCOM files, but not all of her data may get backed up since GEDCOM is an evolving standard and not all programs completely held to the standards. Ancestry allows you to have your trees as public or private; I’ve not seen where someone can change your existing tree without your acknowledgment, but as people being peopleby Diana - Tips and Deals
Another “victim” I usually read it in horizontal, since the letters are bigger. A orientation switch fixes the incidence, but doesn’t fix the problem. Most annoying.by Diana - Tips and Deals
Quotevision63 QuoteRolando I think it might depend where you shop. Some of the fancier, "middle class" locations won't have them, but they are at the .... um... "more ethnic" locations? EG, my wife loves fried chicken gizzards (), so I have to go to the East side of town to pick them up for her. Is this in addition to the gizzards that came with your bird? I stew them wiby Diana - Tips and Deals
Airfly Pro at the Apple store purportedly allows two sets of BT headphones to connect. They say the AirPod Pro and the Beats, but I suspect that other headphones work. I bought one but haven’t tried it out on my Bose over-ears headphones; this will give me an incentive to try it. I’ll report back what I find.by Diana - Tips and Deals
Quotedatbeme I believe the traffic jam is due to there being like 1000 K-Cars on the road at the same time. Precisely. It doesn’t matter what fuels the cars. It doesn’t matter even if these were cars, or horses, or pedestrians. It’s the sheer number of them on the road *at the same time* that’s the cause. It doesn’t even matter if the picture is fake or not, congestion like what tby Diana - Tips and Deals
Where are said critters coming in? I would get a cat. Specifically, if you don’t want or can’t have one, a cat’s scat. Used cat litter works as well. Spread it around where the critters get into the storage shed, and it often works as a deterrent as said critters don’t want to be eaten by the cat. The fresher the scat, the better, as it indicates an active predator is near. Disgusting?by Diana - Tips and Deals
Quoteanonymouse1 SALT, with Angelina Jolie The Longest Kiss Goodnight, with Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson I’d put either up with the Bourne films. That’s The Long Kiss Goodnight”. I need to watch that one again.by Diana - Tips and Deals
QuoteZ Carbon bromide? Not zero solubility in water but pretty darn low Melting point 94.5C; 202.0F; 367.6 K Boiling point 189.7C; 373.4F; 462.8 K decomposes Solubility in water 0.024 g/100 mL (30C) Or Tin? Most elements will have quite high melting points. The smaller and lighter the atom the more likely it will be either a gas or a liquid at room temperature. There are exceptions,by Diana - Tips and Deals
I searched for “melting point experiment” and got several. Simpler organic compounds are usually used, and if you stick with those containing just carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and/or nitrogen you can be reasonably sure that the combustion products will be relatively benign. Do it in the fume hood (like you said before); and of course, always double check to see what decomposition products will beby Diana - Tips and Deals
QuoteAcer Quotefreeradical I've never had a fish tank. Is this a urea problem? Nitrates are the end-stage of what began as ammonia in the fish waste. Good bacteria in the filter and around the tank change Ammonia-->Nitrites-->Nitrates. Ammonia hurts fish bad. Nitrites not good, but normally temporary. Nitrates just sort of sit around as the end stage. They aren't supposed to be harmful,by Diana - Tips and Deals
QuoteAcer QuoteDeusxMac QuoteS. Pupp The education and training are vigorous and challenging- how are these people making it through? Bell Curve and Peter Prlnciple. Old joke: "What do you call the guy who graduated last in his class in medical school? Doctor." Memorize for the test, then dump it. Common in college and, in some cases, grad school as well. As far as the cold ice-balls of *SHUDDER* I've learned to turn on the light when I get up at night. It can help prevent a strategically placed hair ball or other vomited "present" from getting stepped on. I've had cats most of my life. The only kooks or crazies I have had were those that came to me as a feral, or those that lived through life-changing experiences (one nearly froze aby Diana - Tips and Deals
QuoteWill Collier QuoteRacer X How do they handle "All Hands On Deck" crash situations then? I know they are NTSB's purview, but the FAA is very much involved as well. Is that the exception, like certain jobs only? Good question, I'll ask the next time I see him. He works in the D.C. Headquarters. Overtime requires authorization. Even voluntarily working with the full knowledge tby Diana - Tips and Deals
I would call the doctor and see what he/she says. I’m assuming that the next appointment is for the vertigo? Vision changes can be a sign of migraine or it could be something else. Has it gone away? Was pain associated with it? I’m not an MD, but others here either are MDs or in the medical field.by Diana - Tips and Deals
I have single tab selected, and it is still doing it. Any other ideas? For clarity, I’m talking about when I change from one page to another. I would normally hit the pages button (bottom far right, looks like two pages one on top of the other) and the open pages appear(ed) as a stack of papers, not individual ones laid out side-by-side. If I hit the pages wrong, they quickly disappear. I prby Diana - Tips and Deals
QuotePaul F. Oh..... I remember my LaswerWriter IIg! It was a BEAST! Great printer, until it started to paper jam in ways I could not fix with a roller kit. I think it cost me $50 used... I was given one that “didn’t work” — found a tiny scrap of paper that didn’t get removed from a prior paper jam. After removal, that thing ran like a champ and I printed my dissertation on it. Recently upgraded to the “latest and greatest” and I must say that I’m a little underwhelmed with what I’ve encountered recently, specifically with Safari. I know that I haven’t really given it a good workout, and that I cannot go back, but it seems like this version was made for those that are proficient in thumbing everything. Todd, You are correct. The answer key (as I’ve seen with other books) can be wrong, and in this case, I think it is incorrect. Email the math teacher; perhaps they will answer as to the HOW that this is being taught. The answer given makes no sense to me. Maybe the method will give some insight as to how it went wrong. Perhaps use it as a teaching moment? I don’t know the age group of tby Diana - Tips and Deals
Quotedatbeme I've never once thought about being mauled by a lion. But now... You gotta be around lions to possibly get mauled by one. I have a better chance of getting mauled by my cats, or by my mom’s little mix-pug dog. Around here, it’ll be car crash with the idiot drivers I’ve seen lately.by Diana - Tips and Deals
I would use an oil-based enamel for it. High gloss and durable, needs paint thinner/turpentine to clean up. Do it in a well ventilated location, unless you just like the paint “fumes”by Diana - Tips and Deals
Seems (to me) that they are refusing a lawfully given order, namely getting immunized. Hardly something to be honorable discharged for. That would have been called insubordination back before immunizations became political statements.by Diana - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
Thanks. These storms come in from the west going east, and the severe stuff usually goes to the east/northeast, so me and mine are out of danger. These have been rain-wrapped, making them much harder to see. Radar has been a godsend around here.by Diana - Tips and Deals
To the east of me. Fast forming, took about 10 minutes to form the tornado, 5 minutes to do it’s thing, and is gone already from the radar. In about another hour the system will be out of the TV viewing area. We have been seeing the storms moving in all afternoon, knowing that these things could form. Big storm system. Neurologist and/or audiologist. My stroke manifested itself as a severe dizzy spell (vertigo) with nausea. An MRI caught the damage; I previously had a vertigo issue (BPPV) and I thought it was just another spell of it. The neurologist found it, and the audiologist found the BPPV as crystals in the inner ear. The Epley maneuver as well as PT exercises helped a LOT but I still need to be careful nby Diana - Tips and Deals
I read that some sound insulation material inside the machine was breaking down and outgassing; said outgas(es) have been implicated in various cancers and respiratory issues. I registered mine as well, and am waiting for the next step from Philips.by Diana - Tips and Deals
