You've probably already checked, but is the power cable plugged in securely at both ends? Years ago, that was the cause of random shut downs of a friend's 6500. Yes, a friend's, I never owned one.by neophyte - Tips and Deals

QuoteLemon Drop That thread where Lemon Drop sounded like a Tim Scott fan. I did have some wine last night but not that much. Everyone has an oops moment. It does not diminish in any way my admiration for your thoughtful contributions and humane outlook on the many issues you address here. I forgive you completely.by neophyte - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
Scott wouldn't be at any federal level today were it not for Nikki Haley appointing him Senator to replace retiring Jim DeMint in 2012. His main support is from Evangelical Christians. He supports off-shore oil drilling, which is mostly unpopular with the people along the SC coast, and receives campaign funding from oil and gas interests. He has spoken "truth to power" at least 3by neophyte - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
QuoteLemon Drop There's one person on that panel I do admire and it's Senator Tim Scott. Certainly don't agree with all of his policy positions, but he's a man of character an integrity, self-made, the real deal. The rest of that...pass. I disagree. He and I exchanged emails after his very vocal support of Betsy DeVos for Sec of Education. In part, he wrote: "...she believes thatby neophyte - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
I have two low tech, "standard size" cat boxes with shields similar to this. The shield blocks most of the flicked litter from leaving the box. For ease of changing, I have found that the boxes will fit into compactor trash bags loosely and the bags will lie mostly flat to line the bottom of the box, thus providing enough room for the litter, and also allow the shield to fit on top.by neophyte - Tips and Deals

QuoteMichael N-OS X-tasy! linked this in the MR Forum Confessions thread about 15 down: Please note that they say to use the 8100 or 8200 series if you have a septic tank. The 8200 series has cultures to help maintain a septic system. Our plumber told us that just pooping will provide everything needed to maintain a septic system, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to add more stuff to the stuff.by neophyte - Tips and Deals

Doesn't someone make an elongated tablet that suspends inside the overfill tube? That way water flowing into the bowl will get treated each time the bowl fills, without the rubber seals in the tank being constantly exposed to bleach.by neophyte - Tips and Deals
QuoteRacer X We had an air raid siren on top of the water tower across the street from my elementary school. Every Wednesday at noon, they set off the whole network throughout Seattle as a system test. Firedome Hemi engines powered the massive sirens. Back in the early 1960s, my town's weekly tests emanated from the fire station's sirens at noon on Saturdays, thus also signaling closing tiby neophyte - Tips and Deals

I have these N-95 masks. They claim to be 4 ply. I just got a package in 5 days cross country, CA to SC. Been wearing one since April. It holds up well. Don't know how well it protects if you wear it over a beard, but like others have stated, it's better than nothing. They are a bit stiff, and tend to restrict air flow so you will definitely have some air flow through your beard unless you breathby neophyte - Tips and Deals
Just got an email update about SC Democratic Party campaign events. Seems Tulsi is lending her voice. Not sure how much help that will be. Haven't seen or heard anything from Tom Steyer, although he was all about continuing his support for Democratic Party and minority agendas during his run here in February. Maybe he is helping elsewhere?by neophyte - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

I repaired my wood mailbox post using 6" lag bolts. The closest outlet was in my garage, about 90 feet away. Two by 50' extension cords (14g) worked fine. My drill powered the lag bolts right in (predrilled holes) without stalling.by neophyte - Tips and Deals

Quotefreeradical Pay a beekeeper to deal with it. Those aren't honey bees. They're yellow jackets. I doubt a bee keeper will deal with them. From experience, spray a stream of poison, from a distance, into the hole in the nest at dusk. And again the next morning if the remaining "swarm" is only a few still trying to get into the nest. Repeat daily until no more are seen. Then removby neophyte - Tips and Deals
QuotePeterB Something doesn't quite add up. They mention that they've found neutralizing antibodies in less than 5% of COVID patients. If this is really true, then plasma transfers from recovered individuals to those in need should not be working nearly so well as they are ... there are many accounts now of individuals whose lives have been saved by plasma transfer.
