Yep, bought a system from Costco last holiday season. Love it, retrofitted a 2000s alarm system with it, all windows have sensors now, added some extras, and even hard wired the main panel into the existing spot where the old system had it on the wall (normally it's set up to plug into an outlet, and sit on a table). Well worth it. Great product.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Yep. House Shampoo done last spring. Our house sits next to a wetland / nature preserve, and all the houses in the area gets algae / lichens / moss on the roof from the humidity in the area and it starts to look really bad after about 5 years. The roof is 18 years old and went from looking like it needed to be replaced, to absolutely perfect looking and has stayed that way for 18 months now.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals

Our area is being told we can expect a 48% higher rate this year in Northern IL. Local paper is running this story today about it. Gas bills will increase 48% Suburban households could be facing a tough winter According to Nicor’s estimates, the typical household will pay about $674 on heating bills from November through March. They did so many things wrong it was just ridiculous. Friend of mine worked there in corporate for 20 years, she was a manager in their POS system division. She told me it was 20 years old at one point and they were not able to keep it modernized because it would cost so much to do, and it was a terrible security hole and went down constantly, causing tons of lost sales in stores because theyby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals

I do think if I were in your shoes, I'd first look at every other energy consuming aspect of the house and modernize it. Windows #1. Furnace / A/C #2. Appliances #3. Solar sounds great. So does wind. We have both at OWC - and we benefit from both substantially - but the ROI and up front cost are a severe detractor to most. It's expensive being greenby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
I think the companies you're seeing adding are probably using articulating panels that follow the sun in your area. A large solar farm just went in near our OWC office and the panels all track the sun, Our array(s) are stationary and definitely show less generation as they are fixed position. I'd call your local solar companies and ask for them to show you similar sized arrays they've installeby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
cbelt beat me to it. What I've done a long time ago was to drill holes, wrap copper wire through the items to be soldered, and use that as a really good conductor and a solderable bond to augment the lack of a spot weld. It held, really well. Quotecbelt3 I have done this by drilling a small hole in the bus strip to give a mechanical advantage. But I second the Batteries Plus guys... spot weldby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals

Yep. I have a Husqvarna Automower 430X (link) for 2-1/2 years now. Love it. "Snippy" does a fantastic job. You still have to trim, which I do with an electric 40V Ryobi every 2 weeks basically. The automower wont get right to the edge of landscaped beds, trees, etc. - it gets about 2" or so away. Literally being done with yard work in 15-20 minutes is awesome. We have a Del Webb retirement community about 15 minutes away from the OWC headquarters, and they had an active computer group of retirees there a few years ago and a couple of them have donated their vintage collection to our vintage collection that needs to become a museum at some point here at OWC. One of them that came in about 6 months ago had tons of old 5-1/4 floppies in it, lots and lotsby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
