Some LaserDiscs are deterorating - cheaply made ones, early production ones. I threw out a few last year, and have worked to get as many in my collection replaced with DVDs.

Is it the Special Edition of Aliens? Still have my Pioneer LD player hooked up. Have Fantasia about about 40 other Disney films - at least with the LDs we got the box sets and a ton of great reading material on the movies, extras.

Three quarters up. Still export to photoshop for "real" editing but I definitely needed something for more organization than iPhoto. The built in editing is probably good enough if you don't need to knock out backgrounds, or manipulate just part of an image. I shoot all the product photos for macsales, and frequently am editing just a portion of an image (like a hard drive label, etc.

If you can find a refurbed RX700 you can still get somewhat cheap ink for it. I stocked up at $3 a cartridge about 6 months ago when I heard the lawsuit was settled - now you can only find refills it seems. Yes, you can. VLC plays it nicely, no dropped frames, but front row staggers till it fills it's buffer. What file format are you going to use?

What's the maximum speed you see when transferring files to the airdisk? I assume the 6.5MB/sec was a time machine backup, not a file transfer. Thinking about one for home

Guitar Hero 3 - with 2 guitars ($$$) - son and I play it at least 3-4 times a week in co-op mode. The Bigs baseball is excellent - can't wait to try MLB 2K8.... Mortal Kombat is good as well if you like that sort of thing. If your kids like Pokemon, Pokemon Battle Revolution is good. Don't forget you can play GameCube games with it, Look for deals on them.

It's amazing what a difference a REAL keyboard can make. None of these membrane-flimsy-crap-tastic things for me. I want it to go CLICK and CLACK and keep up with my fingers. Like I said above - until you've typed on either a Apple Extended Keyboard II, or a Matias Tactile Pro, you truly don't know how fast you can type. Depends how irritated I am that day. Typing in high school, already was a fast typist (had 6+ years of computer ownership by the time I took that class). Teacher immediately put a tent over my hands... didn't take long and I was at 80+ WPM. If it's quiet at OWC, you can hear Larry and I typing at lightning speed from our offices He will probably never, EVER get rid of his Apple Extended

FireWire charging iPods do get hot quick. But if the drive is not spinning, try: • Smacking the back of the case with your hand. Could be a stuck drive - and that does sometimes work. • Taking the back off the iPod, removing the hard drive, taking the hard drive cable off the logic board, put it back in, try again. Fixed more than a few that way, seems they get loose or just don't make
