Yep power draw is different from side to side - look at the USB device tree in ASP and you'll see that trackpad, keyboard, isight, etc. - all draw from the USB bus.

Open Activity Monitor and see how many processes are still running. LIke any new system install, it's performing a LOT of tasks in the background. Give it time....

FWIW I've had one on 24/7 for 4 years. 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, now 10.5. Solid as a rock. Yes the power switch is a problem but like Larry said, very easy to replace. If you're going to use it 24/7, you need this: Any processor upgrade will have a fan included.

Some employees had issues with SuperDuper Friday when we were cloning Leopard at OWC. CarbonCopyCloner works flawlessly - and it's what I use (and just used actually overnight).

That update made my day yesterday afternoon. Seriously..... I was affected by it and thought I was doing something wrong - vindication! I was not :>) Yes that's right I was using a machine that had been originally created in 10.1, upgraded to 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 and FINALLY decided I wanted a clean install, nothing transferred, for 10.5.

Yeah I use Energy Saver every night on my Cube Jukebox at OWC - works like a top. I'd bet a monthly/weekly/daily cron is running when you try it. Go for either before midnight or like 7 in the morning.

I've known Andrew Welch for like 15 years - and if ANYONE can get it working, it's him and his team. They did all the right things with iToner. Did not hack the phone at all- they followed guildelines set by Apple in the SDK. And got screwed. I feel really bad for them/him. The upcoming issue of MacLife has a full page iToner ad. That's not cheap.

Try just one chip at a time. Every Apple system pulled memory we sell is pretested - no exceptions, so it's a guarantee it worked.

Saw this on Digg last weekend - tried it, and it does do a nice job - but make REAL sure you thoroughly rinse the salt off the meat. I'm going to try it again, but only go 45 minutes instead of an hour. The leftover T-Bone sliced up on a sandwich was REALLY good. Even better than the first time around. I have both. The Shuttle Pro is for video editing. The PowerMate is for iTunes. And I use the PowerMate 100 times a day easy - on my headless G4 Cube, to skip songs, pause, and adjust volume. It works flawless that way. And - I've had it since they shipped their first batch of them. It's as perfect as the day I bought it. I just wish I had bought a black one too - when they had them, a limited
