Should have been one master, one slave. EXCEPT.... if mixing and matching drives, especially WD drives - I've had nothing but trial and error solutions a few times. WD drives don't play nice with other brands on the same bus frequently. We used to run into that with G4 Cubes and optical drive upgrades. Glad you got it working.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Been there, fixed that. Love my DVP642, given a number as xmas gifts too. My own had the capacitor problem about a year ago. Takes 10 minutes to fix.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Already gone. Darn you pRON! I keep buying lenses because of your posts!by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
We had these done exactly for this reason. Hard to find and Apple wanted $34.95 for it.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Cool. Question is, will the controller address more than 2GB?by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Are you using CS2 or CS3? Either should be fine, definitely need more RAM than 2.5GB in a Mac Pro though. 4 is what I would set as a minimum.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Chilaquiles. And I 2nd MGS's suggestion of Coke with REAL sugar in it.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Pull the internal 3 screw panel that conceals the HD, and the RAM. Pull the HD out. Reinsert it. It may have jarred loose is all (fingers crossed)by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
I think you now have a pretty Xmas ornament unfortunately.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Doubtful. For one, eSATA does not provide power to devices. So bus power is out of the question. FW800 is still awesome. At the lower half of the page, compare the results: I'd prefer FW800 over eSATA for portability, and compatibility - but definitely the best of all worlds is a Quad case like I linked to above. Can take it ANYWHERE and hook up to any computer.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Activity Monitor. Main window, under the View pulldown menu, make sure "kind" is checked under the column submenu(last item).by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
+1 for your subject title. I feel your pain. We're all going through this hell trying to figure out the best way to upgrade.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
I removed it as well. Same reasons.... slow over time.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
And they added this to the top of the product description: LEXMARK C534N COLOR LASER PRINTER (No further any kind rebate; no return (if defective, replaced with the same model only); cancellation is subjected to 15% restocking fee))by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Big thing is finding a LCD TV that will properly display it's full resolution on a Mac. The Vizio we had in here of an employee's last week would still leave a 1" black border around the screen - and I'm a purist, I'd rather NOT have to hack the resolution to get it to display properly. A LCD TV is not good for a computer screen replacement unless you sit 5' away from the screen.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Somebody buy one and hook it up to their computer. Let us know how it looks :>)by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Only thing - know going in, expensive supplies. $150 for an imaging drum (20K black / 10K color life expectancy), and $140 for color / $100 for black (4K life averages). Other than that, stunning output. Saw them at MacWorld, and have been thinking about it for home. No duplexer really hurts though ($375).by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
A big congrats to OWC Larry and his wonderful wife Shannon! They have a new addition to their family - their second child was born today! Julia Lauren O'Connor Born 12:33PM today 3/22/2007. 20.5" 9 pounds, 1.4 Ounces!by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Run hardware test yet? Reset the SMC controller? Could be that the thermal sensor bad, or the wire in the front of the mini to the left of the remote control is not plugged in. That is exactly what the mini does when it's not plugged in. Other than that, is it still under warranty?by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Just tested our miniStack V2 on Thursday - no problems at all. So it's definitely not a combined bridge problem. FWIW we thought the docs on Apple's site were less than stellar, and have created our own- but they are in word format, will be putting them into HTML and on our site early next week. If you still can't get it working, drop me an email Monday and I'll send you a PDF of the docs aby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Works great. For a duo that is small and light though a few good layers of bubble wrap and a sturdy double wall box would be more than adequate. Instapack is more suited to heavy, dense items like desktops, towers, and monitors.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Take it apart, unplug the hard drive cable from the logic board, straighten it out, put it back. Had more than one come back to life with just doing that.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
You just posted your question in the other thread 3 hours ago Speed, redundant backup, or both is absolutely correct- rz's answer is spot on. Only thing is you'd be speed limited on that iMac. If you had 4 drives in a Mac Pro, I'd say RAID is a great idea. But considering you're tied to one FireWire bus in that iMac, I'd say sure to 2 drives, but not all 4. The wiki is a great source of inby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
I've found that quitting Disk Utility and relaunching it sets things straight doing exactly what you're doing. (I think it's a bug in DU). Softraid works every time. Glad you got it working!by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Site's down already - must be served off of something totally wimpy.by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Spindown fix- Also CHUD has aHD tool included in it -by OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
Oh COME ON! I grilled out last night - and it was -12 here in Northern IL! Superbowl will do tha tto you I guess. If it 's a thick one, then definitely pan seared is the way to go. Get a good old black skillet - HOT HOT HOT, sear it, and lock in the flavor. Excellent technique - used it a few times, I would rub with garlic, and the Montreal Steak seasoning is fantastic stuff as wellby OWC Jamie - Tips and Deals
