I will advise this - if it's a G4 iBook. the connector in the top left corner of the motherboard that is attached to the top cover, that goes to the power switch- I've said it before and I'll say it iagain. Crappy design, no room to get the cover off without tensioning the wire, and the solder is REALLY WEAK on the logic board. I've had to repair half a dozen of those now. And yes, every one from

Ahh come on. I did a 14" iBook in 35 minutes start to finish this AM. Of course, that was one of the few times everything came apart just perfect. And it's 64 screws. Yes, 64. And you DO have to put them all back in the right holes. No cheating!

Throughout the house I have either T8 electronic ballast 4' fluorescents, or a myriad assortment of CFl bubs. Really like the 30W variety in can lights - they do an excellent job. And 3 way fluorescent bulbs in the living room. Couldn't be happier with them. Especially, since as of Jan 1st, our local Com Ed's rate freeze (10 years now) has expired, and we've been told our rates will increase

Been using it most of the day today. WOW do some of the features use some horsepower - dual 2.7GHz G5 processors run full blast anytime I try and do the smart mask features (and it's not as good as me - yet, need to practice with it for masking images). Will try on my MacBook Pro 17" 2.33 tonight more.... but you're right, some real compelling new features here.

You may be safer buying a unitasker ;) Buying appliances for your wife for Xmas is a big no-no. Anything that can be used in the kitchen is not safe - can be used against you way later in life. But buying a machine that is JUST for relaxation.....

I would really suggest pulling the island out, remove everything, put your tile down, and then put the island back in. What everybody else said about removing the tile is dead on, it's likely got asbestos - wear a mask and DEFINITELY invest in the time and small expense of putting new underlayment down. 2 in series works great. set the first one to preheat the water and use as a holding tank. 2nd to bring the water up to your desired temp. I have 2 40's in my basement and never, ever run out of water.

Ink for the RX-700 is dirt cheap (generic ink) - and gets fantastic coverage for a cart. I've done probably 300 discs now, and only replaced 3 or 4 carts - at about $6 a cartridge.

That's also a problem - media price. What are you paying for lightscribe CD and DVD media? I pay like 20 cents a disc for printable DVD media (Ritek or Taiyo Yuden), full surface printable when buying in 100 lots. And - as I've said before - The Epson RX700 inkjet printer is INCREDIBLE. Just amazing quality on discs - I LOVE IT. Best inkjet I've ever bought. Not at all like any of the previous
