QuoteKen Sp.My question is. If I refund or reverse the PayPal payment mutually. Does PayPal refund the service fee also. Yes, as long as you do the refund via the "refund" link on the transaction details page.by TL - Tips and Deals
Quoteimagenious1. Can JUST a credit card be used to setup? Yes. How do you plan to retrieve funds? You can get the PayPal debit card, do a bank transfer (need a bank account linked), or request a check (costs $1 per check). There is a limit to withdrawals before becoming verified (adding a bank account and entering the amounts of 2 small deposits, or using electronic verification via onlby TL - Tips and Deals
QuotePsurferGood tip abpout Paypal, which I assume I can use for non- PP'd items, like Xmas gifts? But that's USPS only? The link I provided above is for non-PayPal-paid items. You can use UPS from that form by using the change carrier option, but why not just go straight to UPS.com for that? You can pay for shipments from their using a CC (or set up an account of you wish).by TL - Tips and Deals
If you sell on ebay and plan to accept any form of PayPal, you have to accept all forms. This includes CCs. That means you should use a premier or business account. You will be charged fees on all payments. The fees, assuming you don't qualify for a volume rate discount, are 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction (echeck fees are capped at $5). If you want to qualify for the Seller Protection Polby TL - Tips and Deals
You can ship using any USPS class via PayPal. Of course it requires a Paypal account, but the only charge is for the postage and e/delivery confirmation (which is free with Priority Mail).by TL - Tips and Deals
Interesting that it's apparently free federal. I haven't opened the case yet, but I'm guessing they'll still charge for state.by TL - Tips and Deals
Thanks Newt! Great find.by TL - Tips and Deals
If you accepted a payment for $250 or more, then yes, PayPal does require a sig on delivery for SPP qualification.by TL - Tips and Deals
Ken SP, I hope you're aware that accepting multiple payments for your item means that you are not SPP eligible. Beyond that problem, if the buyer files item not received claims for both payments, you'll win one with your tracking number but lose the other because you won't have a tracking number for it. In general, you need to have at least as many tracking numbers as payments.by TL - Tips and Deals
Addresses are confirmed. Accounts are verified. Your buyer needs to pay with a confirmed address for this sale to qualify for PayPal's Seller Protection Policy. Your account needs to be verified for you to qualify for the SPP. There are other criteria for the SPP.by TL - Tips and Deals
You can't deny CC payments made to personal accounts anymore. You can let it sit unclaimed for 30 days, at which point it'll be refunded to the buyer, but that'll end up with you getting negged by a ticked off buyer.by TL - Tips and Deals
I bought one last year for my nephew. ~$5 at Big 5 Sporting Goods. If you don't have a Big 5 near you, perhaps another sports chain would carry them.by TL - Tips and Deals
If the website is OOS for you, you can get a Lexar 1GB SD card for the same price instore through today. I picked one up tonight, though an OM employee had to dig one out of lockup for me. If you really want the Simpletech brand, OM B&M will match the .com price.by TL - Tips and Deals
Sure. Hit that link, then log into your account. Check your address in the upper left. If you do carrier pickup, no need to change the zip, but if you drop off packages elsewhere, make sure the zip for that post office is correct. Then fill in the recipient's address. You can choose to let them get an email when you generate the label if you wish. In the shipment Info section select yourby TL - Tips and Deals
Did you know you can print postage from PayPal even when they aren't related to PayPal/ebay purchases or sales in any way?by TL - Tips and Deals
Alaska uses Sea-Tac as a hub. By extension, Horizon has a fairly large presence. Northwest is also fairly prominent particularly for international routes, though Sea-Tac isn't one of its hubs.by TL - Tips and Deals
Seriously, Carnos, do you have a Kinkos near you? You can drop FedEx packages there free of charge, and they can give you a dropoff receipt. That'll cut the driving way down, and in turn the handling fee. Unless you state otherwise in the listing, ebay assumes that the shipping will be done via a ground class. As you've been shown, that's at most $15 insured through any of the 3 major carriby TL - Tips and Deals
Quotehalyou can't bump your own proxy bid. it only gets bumped when someone else bids higher. I meant increasing the proxy rather than the bid displayed, but actually you can literally bump your own bid shown if there's a reserve and the first bid is under but the second is over.by TL - Tips and Deals
the guys isn't using a clever technique at all. All he's doing is bumping his proxy bid. The same effect as gained by the multiple bids can be achieved by placing one proxy for the highest price he's willing to pay.by TL - Tips and Deals
Did you actually specify in the listing that the high shipping fee was for FedEx Express Saver? if you indicate it's not a ground fee but rather an expedited class, then tend to let higher fees go. Still, it shouldn't take you $5 worth of gas to drop the box off at a kinkos, and if it takes you an hour to pack the box up, you're spending way too much time on it. I don't know how big the Nomby TL - Tips and Deals
UPS = bad idea. The buyer will get hit with some lovely fees for the the privilege of UPS "clearing" the item through customs. See for the fees. USPS, otoh, charges a flat $5 fee for the same service.by TL - Tips and Deals
No, it's not a good idea to solicit WU transfers in your listing. In fact, it'll get your listing pulled right quick. Read the accepted payments policy - WU transfers are explicitly forbidden.by TL - Tips and Deals
FYI, you get zero seller protection when shipping anywhere but the U.S., U.K., and Canada. That means that a dishonest buyer can get a reversal on the payment (IOW, get the item free), and you won't be able to do anything about it. It really wouldn't hurt to spend some time reading the seller protection policy.by TL - Tips and Deals
Yuku is ugly as hell, IMO. It's very much Myspace-ish with a very clunky interface. I use another board that's prepping to move to Yuku and it's not going smoothly. Ezboard itself isn't bad, but has periodic issues with stability. There was a big meltdown several months ago that resulted in quite a bit of data loss, and it periodically goes down for several hours (on Sunday it was out/unstaby TL - Tips and Deals

Quotehalthe auction ended jul-22 that's more than 2 months ago. NO CREDIT CARD on the planet takes disputes beyond 60 days.... something is very strange here... Some CCs do allow more than 60 days. Also, the 60 (or however many) days is typically from the date of the statement. Assuming a 30-day statement cycle and a statement that closed 29 days after EOA, the buyer could be well within the tiby TL - Tips and Deals
QuoteCaryActually, this was disputed to the CC company. According to PayPal, they are "on my side" in this... You didn't follow the SPP, so while PayPal may say they are "on your side" in reality they have no great incentive to support you. When a chargeback happens, PayPal looks to see if you were SPP-eligible. if yes, they defend you against the chargeback. If no, thby TL - Tips and Deals
I would absolutely get in contact with this buyer ASAP. It's possible that the chargeback is in error (i.e., his card is stolen, the company goes back and reverses all recent charges including legit ones). If the buyer is honest, he'll get the chargeback stopped. If he's not, you get to either give up or pursue this through legal channels. You violated the Seller Protection Policy, which reby TL - Tips and Deals
That thing is ugly. Nice shot though. How about more kitties next time?by TL - Tips and Deals
Could be the person has a personal account. If you funded it with a CC and are positive the address is correct, the seller simply doesn't want to upgrade to premier and pay the fees. He's required to according to PayPal and ebay rules, however.by TL - Tips and Deals
