kap- adjustables are recast periodically, that is usually in conjunction w/ rate adjustments to compute the amortization at the new rate over the remaining term of the loan... any add'l principal payments made are effectively factored in at the subsequent recast. typically adjustables keep recasting periodically over the stated term, so the "trick" on adjustables is to keep making subst

if the tech asks somewhat spontaneiously while doing the test, it's usually a boy. think about it. due to Mrs. Buzz's advanced age, and other high risk health concerns, we got confirmation on Baby Buzz very early, so by the time the viewable ultrasounds came around, we had already known for a while. 24 min L&D for an over 40 first time mom... after three hours of trotting around Home Depot ge

I had never been inside a Mal-Wart until a couple of months ago when the folks we were driving w/ stopped in an outlying area to pick up something there that they knew was cheaper. I called Mrs. Buzz and told her we were stopped at a Mal-Wart, and she told me to go inside and get Baby Buzz some socks and underwear... not gonna ever try that experience again, once was too much.

we pretty much stay w/ Costco's extra virgin Italian stuff that says from olives grown in Italy on the label, and also do the smaller extremely dark green bottle in cabinet over the stove routine, w/ big bottle(s) in dark, cool pantry. never lasts long enough to approach expiration, much less go bad. Costco seems to usually have a few choices, and the good stuff isn't a whole lot more expensive t

Monster, OK, found 13GB former iMac drive, and it's a Quantum..., but it's a Fireball "CX" not a Fireball "lct" as yours appears to be. the bottom looks similar, but I was rushing out the door to my kid's little league game, and the printing on the chips is very faint so I couldn't tell, but will look closer tomorrow, w/ high intensity light and magnifying glass and report bac

QuoteArtPHmmm, I always wondered what the new Intel based towers will be called. MacPro sounds confusing and not as good as Powermac G4 or Powermac G5.
Maybe MacCore Pro?
MacTower Pro
Dual Core Pro Macintosh?
Suggestions?

had a dead-ish iMac DV w/ 13GB drive I gave to KenSp. a while back, and he sent the drive back... I subsequently gave a bunch of iMacs to Harbourmaster, and I know we swapped some drives around, as at least one of the iMacs had a dead drive as its problem, and we may have put the one Ken Sp. returned into one that went w/ Harbourmaster, or not. Mrs. Buzz has been on the warpath lately, hiding ev

Been fighting a pre-summer cold for a few days now. Started in head/sinus, went through lots of kleenex, a bunch of post nasal drip w/ lack of taste/loss of appetite, migrated to chest w/ nasty/phlegmy cough, then actually started to finally feel a fair bit better this evening, only to now have bloated gassy stomach keeping me awake w/ nothing better to do than post crud like this .

$10 Lexar firewire CF reader + $60 2GB CF card and you can roll your own (twice the capacity) for way le$$... still very portable, just not quite as sexy, plus it doesn't obstruct adjacent ports like the more expensive, though sexier, cool TT model potentially can.

I tend to leave the cell phone in the car a lot, and then check for missed calls upon returning to it, though my walker does have a cell phone holder on it if I'm doing something that requires straying too far from the minivan, which usually means being out for an extended period. Remember, it's a tool, not a toy.

the big 5 are always vowels, and Y is a sometimes stand-alone vowel, as well as being a sometimes stand-alone consonant, as well as being a willing participant in diphthongy thingies... truly a multi-faceted personality. W, in addition to being a presidential nick, a fancy hotel name/logo combo, occasionally also functions as a vowel, generally as the trailer in a diphthong, again a multi-faceted

I finally got around to firing up a reclaimed from loan beige G3 tower a couple of days ago, and low and behold, just as the borrower had said, there was an apparent problem with the drives. There are 2 Quantum Viking 4.5GB's (UWSCSI) attached to an Adaptec 2940 .
After powering up and booting from CD, or other external drive, one or sometimes two high pitched whine noises are heard, reminisc

it's merely being prepared to support the weakest link. if you have a peppy wired LAN, you should be OK w/ smallish graphic elements. one of my favorite tricks, however, is providing a local file(s) to support the graphics, so that network access is not an issue. downside is keeping the nodes current and synched, but w/ only 10 users, you should be able to control everything.

been using the classic vinyl look-a-likes for duping desirable parts of the audio collection for in-auto use without any noticable problems. best part is reactions from people that haven't seen them before, and trying to convince them that the discs are really shrunken records. nice novelty, don't know that I'd rely solely on them for important stuff, which I usually back up at least 2 or 3 time
