not happy that I had to spend time, but Acomdata evidently doesn't send out "we got your rebate request" emails, or have web site tracking info on the rebate form like most other rebateers, so on a whim, I called, and they were the nicest about it I've ever encountered; and then they actually followed up promptly.

Bought Acomdata 160GB external drives on super-deal-after-rebates sales on BF at Fry's and pre-xmas at CUSA, and called to check status on Thurs..., spoke w/ nice gal after minimal hold time, who took info and actually called me back yesterday to say BF check ($70) was printed, and to be mailed Mon, and pre-xmas rebate confirmed to be processed by end of next week. Posting here now, because Mrs.

incredible vacuum, and lower prices are better than higher prices if you're the buyer. with coupons/specials, etc., you can occasionally find new under $400. you are looking at the classic bird-in-hand syndrome at $374... if you are a frequent vacuumer, the dyson is worth whatever you pay in the long run. enjoy.

Pair of 80GB Seagates on secondary bus, and IBM/Hitachi 120GB & Maxtor 160GN on primary bus of my (not CUSA) MDD. Lately, one (or more?) of the drives makes a periodic chirping sound, like a recalibration, or something. Is there any way to tell which drive(s) is/are making the noise? It's more bothersome, than worrisome, as I tend to look up when it happens, then realize that it's the drive(s

Tom addresses some of the main issues; 8 specific features aren't usable or accessible in 7, and as noted, the development environment (where I exist) is more robust and flavorful in 8. You said your programmer is going 8, so I would strongly suggest following suit, but as TT says, you aren't forced to....., yet. When the programmer adds a new feature that is 8 specific, while forgetting that it

I'll make you a great buy deal on a new-to-you SCSI scanner, and it's good res, but the quick is kinda only so-so... B)
but seriously, what are you looking to scan? different scanners are best suited to different scanning purposes. firewire, res, speed and cost are pretty generic requests.

upgrade. 7 was nothing more than stall while they worked out the kinks to get 8 out the door. 7 & 8 are compatible, but vastly different from 3 though 6. 7 has too much bad form and substance to even consider now that 8 is available. 7 allowed for the learning curve to get to 8, once 8 hit the streets, 7 had served its purpose. upgrade. you can use 7; but don't.

AD, it's kinda the law of averages; I've heard rev B's that were louder than A's, and A's that are down right quiet. our QS dually is louder than our MDD dually. you should check w/ somebody about swapping the fans in yours; not too hard or expensive if the alternative is non-use. good luck (or get ear plugs)

My apologies for the lengthy silence on this matter, but due to circumstances wholly within their control, CompUSA has taken the appropriate steps to put this saga to sleep.

my 1964 Pelouze Petite, was getting a little long in the tooth, and really hasn't worked terribly accurately for years. it has been more of a suggestion for how many "extra ounce" stamps to put in my shirt pocket on the way to the post office, so I don't consider this once every 42 years, technological upgrade obsessive..., of course sending my mother-in-law to pick up a couple more aft

don't know what size you need, or what the weather is like where you're at, but the Turanza LS-H (or V, or Z) are pretty awesome in So CA where we don't much (any) snow and ice to speak of. been great here. as w/ raz, we had Eagle GA's on our first couple of Lexus, that got similarly bad milage, because of the soft V rated rubber. ended up getting $200 refund from Lexus for each set. eventually t

Dave, listen to Pam. We have S1 & S2, and will hopefully soon get S3 to replace S2, as S3 supposedly will be able to push such situations the equivalent of a couple of stops faster. The S2's "custom" mode will let you build out a profile per Pam's suggestion, which is right on (highest ISO, biggest aperture, push for shutter speed). We got the S's largely for the same reason; pics o

Most days, I can walk a block or two without my walker, though I generally stay as close to a wall or railing as possible as I'm prone to falling if I have to walk by myself. If I'm with someone, I hang on to them. At stores, I use shopping carts as walkers. I have a pronounced steppage gait, and cannot use a cane because I cannot raise my right arm or close my left hand. Lotsa bad peripheral neu
