Quotecbelt3 Ooh ! I remember the typewriter interface.. used the serial port, right ? /quote] Yes. That big clunky end that had the wire clips. It may have looked clunky but it never came loose from the ports.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
This model was my first Apple computer. I had it for several years until I finally bought an Apple IIg. I never had dual floppy drives nor the Apple /// monitor. I did finally get a hard drive. I think it was 10MGb (yes that is megabytes not gigabytes). It cost a lot of money (somewhere around $400-500). Sure made it faster to boot up though compared to the 5 1/4” floppy drive. It was bulleby MindMeld - Tips and Deals
I've been changing my oil/filter for 70+ years for much the same reason as Microman. Don't use an oil extractor because I have to get under the car anyway to change the filter. I collect my used oil each time in the jug the new oil came in and dispose of it at our recycle center a couple of times a year. I also do virtually all of my own maintenance and repairs (except for body work). I staby MindMeld - Tips and Deals

I post sporadically on MRF but I read it EVERY day. There's great stuff on here, both technically and socially. It goes wonderfully with my first cup of joe in the morning and often several times during the rest of the day. Thanks MRFers.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals

I have Mojave on an external USB drive connected to my 2012 MBP running 10.12.6. It boots just fine, but as rjmacs pointed out it boots pretty slowly.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals

An awesome response to a very thoughtful lady on behalf of a hard working man and wife who came on hard times. The shop owners didn't ask for any special treatment but were appreciative of what they received. Great story!by MindMeld - Tips and Deals

Quotemrbigstuff QuoteSpeedy Quotemrbigstuff I'm betting its a loose lug nut. Happens. It would take multiple loose lugs, probably all would need to be loose to some degree. Also, the OP said he checked the lugs. Has happened twice over the years to me after repairs, and iirc, they were certainly on, but still loose. You only know that they are loose with the wheel elevated off of the ground;by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
I've always liked baseball when I am at the stadium. I find it somewhat boring however on television.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
Sarcany, I guess I missed your post (sorry). Your experience might shed some light on the situation. I called Amazon customer service about the delivery date issue and spent about 20-25 minutes on the phone with a nice lady. However, I had considerable difficulty understanding everything she was saying due to her accent. Somewhere in our conversation I think she said something about Septemberby MindMeld - Tips and Deals
Here's a link to some Amazon Basics 9V batteries: I selected one-time delivery and it shows "Free Delivery by Monday Sept 24." Clicking on the "Details" link showed nothing about storm related delays.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
I though about the storm as a possible explanation but nothing on the Amazon web site said anything about it. In fact every thing I looked at had the earliest delivery date as September 24th which would tend to indicate that it might be storm related. I wonder if it's different out West. If this is the new norm then the $120 a year for Prime is not that attractive anymore.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
When trying to order something from Amazon yesterday I noticed that the guaranteed delivery date was September 24th, 9 days after the order, even though it was a Prime item. Maybe I've missed something but Prime is (was) typically 2 days for delivery. I then looked at several other items and they had the same delivery date (September 24th). I've never seen this before with Prime items. Has anby MindMeld - Tips and Deals
Good point 3d. It's happened to me when my check didn't get credited until after the billing period ended. I finally noticed an "unpaid balance" from the previous month.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
I have a G4 Sawtooth with an upgraded CPU and 4 HDDs (the original and 3 others) in it. I still crank it up occasionally to use some software that no longer runs on the INTEL Macs. It runs fine but sounds like it's grinding corn. Probably a fan. My wife has a G5 17" iMac that runs just fine also.by MindMeld - Tips and Deals
I just did this when I forgot my login password for High Sierra today: Shut down and then restart. When restarting press the Command and R keys at the same time and hold them until you see the Apple logo. The loading bar will appear under the logo. Wait until your system boots into Recovery Mode (this took a little while so be patient). Click the Utilities tab in the top menu bar, select Termby MindMeld - Tips and Deals

I remember the story about that Michigan beaver dam but never knew how it turned out. The letter responding to the Michigan DEQ was one of the most hilarious things I have ever read. According to "Snopes" the story is true and they concluded with: "After some wrangling the agency ultimately dropped the issue, but not before Stephen Tvedten found an inventive way of quickly poiby MindMeld - Tips and Deals
