Sounds like you might have the faulty CCD problem, which Canon will fix for free: My A70 developed this problem and is being repaired right now; I should have it back in a week. The Canon service rep I talked to was fantastic--one of the best customer service calls I've ever experienced.

My mom bought that model iMac as a refurb from the Apple Store. It was a real dog; had issues that the Apple tech said couldn't be fixed. With very little prompting Apple offered to refund her entire purchase price and paid for the shipping. She bought a new intel 20" iMac and has been happy ever since.

Took the family (wife and boys ages 12 and 8). Kids thought it was cool. I was entertained but it didn't blow me away--too much like every other "city destroyed in epic battle" movie of late. It's getting old.
