What version of iPhoto? If v8 or earlier, you can convert the library with a special app. (I think v8 might have come with Mavericks.) It should then import smoothly into Photos. ...32-bit app, need to run it under Mojave or earlier.

No. Wouldn't risk it. That usually refers to the entrance-height, but often there will be low-hanging plumbing and other traps just waiting for you inside.

For a one-shot backup right before an OS upgrade, why not just make a clone onto a "Clone Drive" with the Legacy Bootable Copy Assistant? ...The main problem with a bootable clone is with ongoing incremental backups. According to the Music App: Oldest last-played date: Arlo Guthree - Deportee... 3/28/06. However, there are a bunch of caveats. I sync about 25% of my iTunes library to my phone, and change-up the playlists every few months. I usually have my music on shuffle on the iPhone. Play-counts sync, but last-played does not seem to sync. So, I don't know how authoritative this is. And better

Pure static is usually the screensaver for a display that's not receiving a signal. It's not coming from the Mac. Std troubleshooting: Re-seat the cable for the display, at both ends. Zap PRAM. With power-off, detach the display-cable, re-seat the display card (consider moving to another PCI slot), then reconnect everything ... and zap PRAM again for good-measure.

1. Don't do it. Best to use an external drive for your second boot vol vs partitioning the internal drive on a new Mac. 2. Yes, you'd need to make a new partition for this purpose. Don't. When I was freelancing, I made a FileMaker DB to track time/billing and generate invoices. My old boss brought me back on to fill-in for all the guys he laid off. He had a habit of mailing checks two weeks late. Just for him, I made a button that created a duplicate invoice with a big red "LATE: Please Remit Payment" stamp.
