I know there were tweaks in Firefox that you can speed page redraws and increase the amount of connections/sec. I will connect wired, directly to my modem, to see if the speed is better. I am part of a lottery and the item is first-come, first-serve, and I need any advantage I can get.

The purples, from what I read, are specifically for DVR/surveillance applications, but I would see no reason to NOT use a green drive. They are about the same price, the slower spindle speed is not an issue for either drive (in this application) and they are both relatively mature technologies. I don't think you could go wrong with either; in my experience, the purple drive I bought has worked li

This is the one that other people recommend, so I picked this one up and have bee using it since day one without a hiccup. It is about the same price as the WD green, but this one is specifically designed for DVRs or surveillance systems.

I bought one about a year ago and it works GREAT. I am able to pause live TV and record the odd show that I would have missed if I were not home. I upgraded to a 3TB HD (no hacks or programming needed, just install the larger HD and have it reload the settings, which took about 30 min total). Great choice for cable cutters.
