They assume the body is the most important item in photography. They get focused on the bells and whistles and spend mostly on the body forget about glass as part of the system.

Rib binders are not used much anymore because of the potential for developing pneumonia. Deep breathing exercises are recommended by taking at least 10 deep breaths every hour while awake and 'splinting' the affected area with your hand, a folded towel or small pillow. Also do the 'splinting' for coughing or sneezing. Of course hookers & booze won't hurt ... if you are careful. ;)

I have the Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens and love it. This lens gives you the wide angle and portrait range along with a form of image stabilization for about $400 less.

I don't watch NBC anymore. They cancelled the shows that I watched, Life and Southland, and renewed Parks & Recreation. As far as I'm concerned, they jumped the shark.

Well said. Unfortunately you don't see that kind of eloquence much anymore. It is worth the effort to travel to DC to see the document. In the spirit of the OP, may I suggest David McCullough's book 1776. A great book that should be included in schools as opposed to the boring date & event textbooks. To me he brought that time to life. Wish I had the words to better describe it.

When looking through the viewfinder of your SLR, the focusing screen is usually the center part of the screen that will allow you to determine if you are in focus. My favorite was the split prism - which if the object was out of focus would appear to be split. When in focus, the object would line up. My apologies if this doesn't make sense, but I'm trying to translate image in my head to words.

I was fortunate enough to attend a lecture of his at the Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately the 2 hour lecture followed by the q&a was all too short. I did get to briefly meet the man and got my copy of his book Circles autographed.
