I'm not sure on that model how difficult it would be to get to the fans. You should head over to iFixit.com and search for a how-to video... I'm sure they have one that can show you step by step.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Since you are asking "what to do?", I would replace the fan(s). I replaced both the fans in my 2010 MBP years ago, and it's running great. I'm pretty sure I ordered them from Amazon, and they were cheap. Just my $.02.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I've been looking for a cheap price on 2X2GB PC2-6400 200PIN SODIMM on eBay and CL. They generally go for $15-20. I have an old pc that uses it, and I'm wondering if upgrading memory will make the it a better Plex client, so I keep an eye out for a good deal. Found one ad for $6.99, but when I open the add, the item condition states: For parts or not working What does one do with non-working rby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals

Yep... billb has it down: "It might be great business promotion. Also a great medium for attention hoars. " I get kinda annoyed at all the media that repeatedly begs us to "follow me on Twitter". They must use number of followers as some sort of metric... What's worse is when ESPN's Mike & Mike beg us to follow their wives on Twitter! I have a Twitter account,by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Grim Ninja - I do use externals for backups. I use Plex to stream movies, and it doesn't seem to work as well with external drives.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I posted an earlier message about how I intend to replace the 2 existing hard drives in my Mac Mini HTPC with 2 larger drives for more space. Currently, I have a 500 GB boot drive, and a 1 TB data drive. I have 2 - 2TB drives that I think I will install instead. I use Time Machine to backup my important folders... pics, home movies, that sort of stuff. I rotate two 4 TB external drives for thby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Thanks for all the responses... appreciate your thoughts. OWC is where I bought the hardware to install the second drive, and the drives are both 9.5mm in height, so should physically fit... thanks Larry!by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
All, I'm using a 2011 Mini as HTPC hooked up to my plasma big screen in the living room. Several years ago, I used the Data Doubler to install a second internal spinning drive. So, as of now, it has the original 500GB HDD, and a second 1TB HDD. Since I'm storing family photos and videos and movies and tv series and music on this thing, hard drive space is running low. I have 2 - 2TB Seagaby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Absolutely not... you're not doing anything wrong. I love it when other bikers approach and strike up a conversation. I have a 30th Annivesary Goldwing... it's fun to meet others with the same bike, and see what they've done to customize their bike. I've gotten many great ideas from meeting other bikers at gas stations/ rest stops. That's why we keep the friggin' things all shined up... well,by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I use Google Voice. I usually just keep a browser tab open to voice.google.com, and then also have the iOS app open in my iPhone and iPad, and the conversations are sync'd automatically. Not the most elegant solution... their iOS app is really dated, and contact integration with iOS sucks, but it works. Plus, I like the voice routing and number blocking features. I have owned two Foresters. I looked at them in the late 90's, and eventually pulled the trigger on a used 2006 that had high mileage when I bought it. It needed the head gaskets replaced, which was a real bummer on the wallet. But, I was impressed enough overall to buy a new one in 2012, which I have been very pleased with so far. I have an older (2010?) i5 Mac Mini that I use as a HTPC. Works great using hdmi to my big screen, and also share files with iPads and iPhones and other computers around the house. I also have a hacked Wii in my daughter's room which can connect to the ftp server on the Mini to stream video files. The Wii is low powered, connected to an old tube tv. Works great for how we use it. I recently (aby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I upgraded from xBox360 to WiiU xmas 2014 when Gamestop offered a good trade-in program. Then last xmas found a great deal on a PS4, and bought that one also. The problem is each platform has it's exclusives. But, if you have the Smash Brothers for WiiU, and it's not holding their attention, then maybe they aren't interested in Nintendo exclusives. I don't have that game, but it is generally cby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
sekker... Sounds right. My sister lives in FL, so she arranged the entire trip and even bought an suv-load of food and drinks for us while we were there. I just wrote out the rather large check to pay for our share of the fun! We had so much fun... saving up now to do it again in a couple years, once my daughter is old enough to appreciate the different attractions. And to give Disney timeby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Racer X has good advice. We were there last summer, and had an absolute blast. I don't remember what we paid for the FastPass option, but it was worth it. Lines that had 60 minute waits for rides were shortened to 10 minutes, at most, with the FastPass tickets.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I have read that this might be his last studio album. We've been to 2 of his concerts... would love to see him again if he comes close to home.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Quotekj4btkljv Quotehotdogthemovie I'm waiting on the Yosemite release, updating the hardware, and doing a clean install. If you still want to use the spinny hard drive with an SSD inside the same computer, you could roll-your-own Fusion Drive. Jeff Jeff... That's something I looked at recently. Need to do more research, but from what I read, the OS makes the decisions on what is putby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I purchased my first SSD back in 2008, a 30GB drive that is still working great as a system drive in my MBP (I used data doubler to add a 500GB spinning drive... haven't missed that Superdrive at all). Over the years that same SSD has been used in a white MB, a C2D Mini, and for the past several years, in the MBP. I recently installed a 120GB SSD in another Mini, which I am very happy with alsoby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Check out refurbished units from the Nintendo website. I bought mine from eBay last Christmas, but I have heard good things about refurbs... and cheaper of course.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I have been running 10.10 on an i5 MBP and a C2D Mini since yesterday. Waited until DP2 released before taking the plunge. One Safari crash, and some Finder slowness (likely due to Spotlight indexing)... but overall, I really like it. But... I'm generally an early adopter with new OS X versions.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I have an i5 Mac Mini, Mid 2011 model, that I believe shipped with 10.7. I have a rescue usb drive with 10.6.8 and Disk Warrior that I use as an emergency boot disk that will boot this Mini. I don't do anything with it other than run Disk Warrior, so I don't know if it's loading the correct drivers for all the hardware, so... YMMV.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Chakravartin is correct. Wii runs in emulation, but it works good. I did not have a Wii prior to the Wii U we bought last Christmas, so I don't have any experience moving saves from Wii to Wii U. Wii controllers work with Wii U. Mario Kart 8 coming later this month! I pre-ordered it several months back, and now I hear that if you buy MK 8, you have a choice of 1 of 4 older games for free.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Good advice from Ombligo. I have a 4TB backup drive i attach once a month to do Time Machine backups. Hate to lose that data if something bad happens. Also, if you download TV shows, check out the control panel TVShows. It allows you to configure auto downloads of television shows you select. ahem... ahem... I hear it works as advertised. I can only assume it is fully authorized by all neby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
ok.. I posted a message here last week asking about your experiences with using iPhones and Straight Talk Verizon service. Several responses mentioned Page Plus Cellular, and after some investigating, I became interested enough to jump in with both feet (is there any other way?) Step one: Went to ebay and search for iPhone 4s and Page Plus Cellular. Search came back with several options, anby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I have had a C2D Mini and now an i5 Mini attached to a 50" plasma since 2009. I wanted to save movies/tv shows/family video to iPads and iPod Touches over the years, so I go thru an extra step of using Handbrake to convert video files, and importing them into my iTunes library. Added a second, 1TB internal hard drive to my current Mini, so now I don't need any external drives for storageby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
rgG - PagePlus looks promising. I don't care about speed, as, like you, I would spend a vast majority of time on wireless networks at work and at home. Since I don't know anything about "smart" phones, how does someone go about taking a 4s and "attaching" it to a PagePlus account? Especially important since you mention iPhone is not supported by the network. Straight Talby hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
Speedy - I took a motorcycle trip thru St Cloud to UP Michigan a couple summer's back... ate at 5 Guys Burgers. Fun trip! Unfortunately, FreedomPop has no service in my area. Chris - Good advice... that's part of the reason I'm not even considering the $500 used iPhone 5's on CL. If I got a good vibe from the CL seller, I'd be willing to roll the dice on $200.by hotdogthemovie - Tips and Deals
I have not had a contract cell phone plan in 6 years or so, using Net10 on a month to month plan since 2007. I dropped that last fall and have been without a cell phone for past 6 months. I'm interested in the $45 Straight Talk plan and buying a used iPhone 4s. I have never owned an iPhone, but have owned many versions of iPod Touches and iPads.
