I'm not sure on that model how difficult it would be to get to the fans. You should head over to iFixit.com and search for a how-to video... I'm sure they have one that can show you step by step.

Since you are asking "what to do?", I would replace the fan(s). I replaced both the fans in my 2010 MBP years ago, and it's running great. I'm pretty sure I ordered them from Amazon, and they were cheap. Just my $.02.

Grim Ninja - I do use externals for backups. I use Plex to stream movies, and it doesn't seem to work as well with external drives.

Thanks for all the responses... appreciate your thoughts. OWC is where I bought the hardware to install the second drive, and the drives are both 9.5mm in height, so should physically fit... thanks Larry!

All, I'm using a 2011 Mini as HTPC hooked up to my plasma big screen in the living room. Several years ago, I used the Data Doubler to install a second internal spinning drive. Racer X has good advice. We were there last summer, and had an absolute blast. I don't remember what we paid for the FastPass option, but it was worth it. Lines that had 60 minute waits for rides were shortened to 10 minutes, at most, with the FastPass tickets.

I have been running 10.10 on an i5 MBP and a C2D Mini since yesterday. Waited until DP2 released before taking the plunge. One Safari crash, and some Finder slowness (likely due to Spotlight indexing)... but overall, I really like it. But... I'm generally an early adopter with new OS X versions.

I have an i5 Mac Mini, Mid 2011 model, that I believe shipped with 10.7. I have a rescue usb drive with 10.6.8 and Disk Warrior that I use as an emergency boot disk that will boot this Mini. I don't do anything with it other than run Disk Warrior, so I don't know if it's loading the correct drivers for all the hardware, so... YMMV.

Chakravartin is correct. Wii runs in emulation, but it works good. I did not have a Wii prior to the Wii U we bought last Christmas, so I don't have any experience moving saves from Wii to Wii U. Wii controllers work with Wii U. Mario Kart 8 coming later this month! I pre-ordered it several months back, and now I hear that if you buy MK 8, you have a choice of 1 of 4 older games for free.
