Quotebillb I wouldn't buy local sims for the little time and use you'd get out of them. I've bought the international roaming which (unless it has changed again) just gives you 'discounted ' minutes, and use it as little as possible. Keep calls short, text, etc. As you know when the ship is in port, ship services are off and port services are on. You might find free wifi. Some larger portby dmann - Tips and Deals
Quotemattkime there are multi country sim cards. but since you're headed to Luxembourg, Sudan, and Paraguay, i'm not sure if there's one with such wide coverage. (p.s. when the internet knows you're away on vacation gnomes sneak in and lick your spoons) Damn gnomes! As a single female, it's hard coded in my DNA to be a bit guarded. I was not aware that there are multi country SIM cards.by dmann - Tips and Deals
Quotemattkime Quotedmann QuoteC(-)ris I'll only buy local prepayed SIMs. That is the only way you can guarantee that you won't get slammed with fees or odd charges. I'll be in 6 different countries in 12 days. The most I'll be in any one place is 48 hours. DM you could keep us guessing or tell us where you'll be LOL! It's bad enough I'm putting it out there that I'll be away. No need tby dmann - Tips and Deals

Thanks, Speedy. I'll look into Viber. It will be no problem for my niece and her father to install and use but I think it may be a stretch for my dad to figure out. He'll be with my grandmother most of the time and while he does text (not bad for a 78 year old guy) he doesn't have a smartphone and his computer skills are limited. Although, my stepmom does have an iPhone so that might work after aby dmann - Tips and Deals
Will be in Europe for 2 1/2 weeks with my mom and my sister. We need to be somewhat accessible since my 11 year old niece will be with her father and someone will be staying with my 96 year old grandmother while we are gone. We are on a family plan with AT&T and all 3 of us have iPhones. I thought a simple international text package would be sufficient but as I started poking around on AT&by dmann - Tips and Deals
My hatred for Mail is well established. Thanks for this info!!! DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
I saw the first show in Santa Clara and the last one in Chicago. Much better/more familiar crowd scene in Chicago which really surprised me. Agree that the vocals were often "off" but overall the performances were great. They were obviously having a good time and had small jams at the end of most songs. I'm not a huge Phish fan but some kids around me who were said that those were sby dmann - Tips and Deals

Having FB problems with Chrome and Safari. Have tried adjusting all manner of settings and preferences. Cleared history and cache. No improvement and it's very annoying. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
Some fabulous Kindle deals would be nice. I'd like to pick up a couple as gifts. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
Something to keep in mind for GenAd tix- no chairs. Might be OK for a normal 2 hour concert but the show Sat night was 5 hours which included a 1 hr break. That's a long time to stand. At 20something years old, no prob. At 40something, no way. I do it enough at tradeshows for work. On my leisure time at something fun I want to be comfortable. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
Never underestimate how much Chicagoans love their cars. Levi's Stadium is out in a fairly suburban area and like I said, surrounded by industrial parks and office buildings. Obviously, that is not the case at Soldier Field. People will drive and they will park at Millennium Park, Navy Pier, every available city lot attached to a high rise office, apartment and condo building, etc. There willby dmann - Tips and Deals
Yes. They are so protective of their brand and I don't blame them. There were undercover cops dressed like concert-goers all over the place. Levi's Stadium farms out much of the parking to surrounding industrial parks so there were lots EVERYWHERE. It was so spread out it was nuts. From what I heard, some people simply had their merchandise confiscated and weren't arrested. Others were hauled offby dmann - Tips and Deals
Agree the show was amazing. Not the same as "in the day" (well, the day for me, anyway) but really great. hal, looks like I was in a section below and to the right of you. Pretty sure I'm going to cave and get tix for at least one show this weekend. Thankfully, no transportation or hotel costs for this one, although my friends and I had a wonderful weekend adventure. Belated but sincere, "Happy Birthday!" Hope you had a great day! DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
QuoteDavidS I'll be in Chicago for the July 4 and 5 shows. I booked hotel rooms about 20 minutes after the shows were announced and plane tickets the following weekend. I got shut out of mail order tickets and got nosebleed 400 level seats for the 4th on Ticketmaster, but I scored a place in a private suite for the 5th. Over the last 4 months, I've met some fantastic people on various Gratby dmann - Tips and Deals
My group will be indulging in wine/cocktails only and moderate amounts at at that. I am the designated driver so that takes care of me. Both people I'm going with have VERY IMPORTANT JOBS that will not be risked. All 3 of us are more than a little sad that we will need to be grownups for this momentous occasion. Quotehal Quotedmann Following this thread- I'm going to the show Sat night and we haven't figured out what we're doing yet. Staying in Mountain View and none of us are remotely local to the area. I'm renting a car, and we have a parking pass but we also have a buyer if we don't want it. I put some Tabasco in a spray bottle and sprayed my cords and my plants fairly frequently for a few weeks. Not sure if the smell alone was enough of a deterrent or if the kitteh actually tasted the stuff but she left things alone after that. A friend said she had success with a lemon juice, water and cayenne pepper concoction. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
The cup isn't too far from me right now. At Patrick Sharp's house in Wrigleyville. Next stop is a visit to the Cubs, according to the news people. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
Really fun to watch! Agree that the goalies were outstanding- every shot was so exciting. Could have done without the helicopters and gunshots, but it was a great night. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals

I love avocados but I don't like eggs. My stepmom makes an egg salad with avocado replacing most of the mayo and I don't think it is overly avocadoey or eggy. This might be another option. DMby dmann - Tips and Deals
