Thanks for the info...I didn't know that this wasn't acceptable anymore. In the past I had seen people getting rid of old Apple stuff. I was a Systems Engineer for Apple in Austin, and they offered a limited edition at one of the Tech trainings. However, there was enough interest that they released a few to the general public. I'm still not impressed with the HTC phones. My friends who have them rant and rave, but when they're doing demos the graphics are chunky, not smooth...but they try so hard to show you how wonderful they are and how "elegant." My neighbor is having a problem, and her mortgage is through Bank of America. She's going through a divorce, and her ex didn't pay the mortgage for four months. Yeah, they have a new rule that passwords can't be used twice in the same year. It rejects the password! In the past, you could change the password back to the existing password if you got locked out. Now it's something completely different, and they're requiring a new one each time. It does if you're registering a new Apple ID. I'm not sure what happens when a new user gets a new computer. My suspicion is that it's happening with new users with new computers. Looking for others having this problem... I have a simple ".mac" address (kat@mac.com), and it has been causing me headaches for awhile. People getting new computers try to choose an Apple ID, and choose my kat@mac.com account, then try to reset the password when it doesn't work. The partnership between USPS and FedEx and UPS is the biggest scam. Take something that works perfectly and insert the most unreliable shipping entity...I've NEVER received anything in a timely manner from this type of shipping. Sure, it's usually cheaper, but it's not worth the savings. I'd happily pay the extra $3-5 to know WHEN my package will be delivered. I actually told a merchant thaby katkramer - Tips and Deals

I hate cable, and HATE Time Warner. Our bill that includes internet and cable TV is now over $150 a month. We had the stupid "Triple Play" to get a cheaper rate (base is $99 in Austin), but they forced us to have a phone line. Seems like not a problem, we just didn't hook up a phone, but then we had the stupid on-screen caller ID. When we told them we didn't want phone, they told usby katkramer - Tips and Deals

I have a dilemma...something that I find frustrating, but it may be none of my business. My fiancee has an 18-year-old son. Last year he admitted to drinking and driving. He's now off at college, finally living on his own for the first time in his life, and we recently took his car away for financial reasons, not for the multiple accidents and general neglect of things like inspection and maby katkramer - Tips and Deals

OMG...these are all great advice (on all levels) and lots of fun! The good news is that the Airport Admin utility works GREAT! His dad's computer is wired, but all of the rest in the house are wireless. On the utility there is a button to "allow" the computer your administrating on because it can read the MAC address...then I limited access from every other wireless device. Yeah, he's not getting any sleep, though, and he's at risk of not graduating from high school! Lately, he's had no idea what time he's finally gone to bed...he's exhausted, but it's like an addiction for him. I'll probably put the same limits on the network that we put on his phone...midnight for school nights, and 2:00 am on the weekends. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to set a schedule on an Airport Base Station to shut it off at night? After harassing the 17-year-old in our house who was abusing his phone privileges, he's now up online chatting on facebook. His dad's too lenient...and I'm a little more creative. Any agents out there? My fiancee was hit on his bicycle by a girl in a truck. It was entirely her fault...she didn't own the truck...it was owned by the brother of one of the passengers in the truck. In our state, the minimum insurance coverage is supposed to be "25/50/25", I think.
