Tagging an update for future searches….looks like iRestore has become RapidRepair.com.by John B. - Tips and Deals
If it’s media failure, I was going to say iRestore.com could probably fix it (or sell you a kit) - I had them fix my iPod Classic a few months ago…..but I just tried to hit their site and it’s redirecting to a hair restoration site, so that might not be a good sign.by John B. - Tips and Deals

I don’t immediately remember the brand, but I have an automatic shutoff that is tied into my Ring alarm system (and flood sensors). It requires that you have a 1/4 turn ball valve on your inlet pipe, but then it just clamps over the pipe on both sides of the.valve and moves the valve lever to close or open the valve. I can close the valve using my Ring app, or if the alarm controller gets an alby John B. - Tips and Deals

I'd at least take it outside, remove all of the removable parts you can, tip it a couple different directions and blast it with canned/compressed air to see if you can shake any obstructions loose.by John B. - Tips and Deals
Every once in a while I stumble across Chewy Spree. And what happened to Sixlets? They disappeared from retail a few years ago, but now it seems like you can't hardly get them online either.by John B. - Tips and Deals
I wonder how long the rollout will be. I've flown United a few times in the last 2 months and they have at least 3 configurations in the air right now.....1) planes with seatback monitors with United's selection of entertainment, 2) planes without seatback monitors that have device WiFi access to United's selection of entertainment (which may not be a 1:1 match with the content available on #1),by John B. - Tips and Deals
Where were you guys 2 hours ago before I went on my Target run? Now I have to go back.by John B. - Tips and Deals
Braided stainless have been the standard for as long as I can remember. There are some hoses out there that have auto-shutoff built in….but there are also a number of ‘dings’ against them that the auto-shutoff restricts normal flow and thus significantly increase the cycle time for a load of laundry.by John B. - Tips and Deals
Start stalking them on whatever your local aggregator site is. Carsoup.com is one here locally. Last (used) car I bought I watched a couple of local dealers reduce their price every week/10 days as the cars sat on their lot.by John B. - Tips and Deals
There are license plate reader cameras....but they are typically not "cheap" (in the relative sense of the word, and they're designed primarily to read license plates in varying light conditions....so you may need separate cameras to capture the "action" and the readable plate Here's a LPR camera....by John B. - Tips and Deals
Do you have a window available to install the exhaust hose(s)? If so, any strong reason for not just putting in a window unit? I've had the single-hose and dual-hose units to cool a small office space. Didn't have window(s) so we had to drill dryer exhaust vents through the wall. Both the single and dual-hose units worked OK, I didn't have a window unit to compare to....but I will tell you thaby John B. - Tips and Deals
I have 2 electric motor-powered 48" risers, each with a dual-monitor mount with (2) 24" monitors. The one with my work Windows laptop has the laptop on the riser surface, the one with my Mac mini has the mini sitting on the desktop below the riser...with the one you have pictured you wouldn't be able to leave items on the desktop surface below the riser due to the way the riser arm slidby John B. - Tips and Deals

Quotemacphanatic QuoteBlack QuoteOmbligo Quotemacphanatic Quotebfd Air travel has quite possibly never been worse than it is today. It's rarely a pleasant experience for anyone. And most air travelers have never been worse than now. Most have no manners and treat others like crap. I somewhat agree. I don't think most are bad but there is a subgroup that makes it seem that way. Add in some cabby John B. - Tips and Deals

I ran a break-in cycle on both of my portable inverter generators (use space heaters or high-wattage halogen work lights for load) and changed the oil after the break-in cycle to get rid of any manufacturing junk. If you want to really dive into it, search some generator forums. There are some really dedicated obsessive people who have written whole break-in routines/cookbooks that they swearby John B. - Tips and Deals

A chair with a keyboard tray attached may be the rare justification for a wireless keyboard. I still vote Aeron - mine has been going strong for 25+ years....and replacement parts are widely available.by John B. - Tips and Deals

Andersen/Emco has a replacement parts site. But like my Larsen doors it looks like they use hinge rails, not individual hinges. If you can 'detach' a hinge you could take it to your local hardware emporium and see if they have a replacement. I rarely see hinge sagging caused by the hinge (the door hinges on my Jeep Grand Cherokee being a known exception)....are you sure there aren't moby John B. - Tips and Deals
1. Leave the door closed in the frame 2. Put a piece of carpet/dropcloth/cardboard on the floor on the inswing (hinge) side 3. Remove hinge pins 4. Use the doorknob to extract the door from the door frame and onto the carpet/dropcloth/cardboardby John B. - Tips and Deals
I have a grocery loyalty card (embedded in their app) that the app is always logged out at time of checkout - and their network is laggy (I know, first world problems). I took a screen shot of the barcode screen and saved it as an album in Photos.by John B. - Tips and Deals

I upgraded an XS to a 15 last weekend. As an iOS device with the current version of iOS, I haven't seen much difference in daily use (again, it's a base 15, not a Plus, Pro or Pro Max) - I have crash detection and 5G now. But I have a newer battery, all of my iOS devices are USB-C chargers now (instead of lightning) and the XS was expected to fall off of the iOS upgrade support list later this yeby John B. - Tips and Deals

I'm with the above and firmly in the "just get good mats" camp. I have Weathertech in a Mazda....they fit great, click in/click out, after a winter you take them out and hose them off. (And a Mazda-branded rubber trunk mat in the trunk.) I also have a set of rubber mats (front/rear) that look like a diamond plate pattern in an almost-30-year-old Grand Cherokee.
