Hated it. Turned it off. I think.... Settings > Desktop and Dock > Windows > Drag Windows to screen edges to tile AND drag windows to menu bar to fill screen.by jardster - Tips and Deals
yeah, I tripped on the cord walking to the fridge. Plugged it back in and everything is better. Always a great solution.by jardster - Tips and Deals
Never. But I live in an area with a really high percentage of Teslas. On a typical drive, I see more Teslas than I could count.by jardster - Tips and Deals
Any NAS drives that play well with TM backups?by jardster - Tips and Deals
We love it there, go a few times a year (my son is an Av geek and getting his pilot's license). I could walk around the Blackbird all day....by jardster - Tips and Deals
So, I will be replacing my wife's 2019 iMac with a new MBA, because she really wants to be able to walk around the house and use the computer in different places. I am going to put a monitor where the iMac is currently and have a dock with all of the things she would want if she wants to sit at a bigger screen (all connected via USBC). I have the same setup at home and work for my MBP, and Iby jardster - Tips and Deals
I'll be preordering a 15" MBA. My wife needs a laptop and it will fit her needs perfectly.by jardster - Tips and Deals

So I put some water in the ice trays at work this AM. The water was cold, but not much more than room temperature. When I came back a few hours later, this is what I found... What the heck? Can someone help explain how this happened?by jardster - Tips and Deals
Seems like updates iPad Air (as well as iPad).by jardster - Tips and Deals
The TV in our main family room is an older 50" Plasma. The picture is great and I love it, but, it really is just too small for the space. I've been putting off buying a new TV for over a year. I think my wife likes the idea of the Samsung Frame TV, as it looks a little better when not in use. Costco has the best deal... Tell me why I shouldn't buy it.by jardster - Tips and Deals
QuoteAllGold If it had been cold enough to snow, we probably would have had a couple feet. And if my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bikeby jardster - Tips and Deals
Our schools let the kids do a snow day. They say that if they know ahead of time that enough snow is coming to close schools for multiple days, then they may do online classes. But it hasn't happened. Let the kids be kids!by jardster - Tips and Deals
We have about 6 inches here in the DC 'burbs. It's a fairly heavy snow. Since I work from home M/W/F, it's just a normal work day for me. I'll just leave all of the shoveling until 4pm when I'm done.by jardster - Tips and Deals
I would think a Kindle Fire or Echo would be perfect. The Fire will be more expensive, but will get you the 10" screen.by jardster - Tips and Deals
Settings > Lock Screen > Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off Hope that worksby jardster - Tips and Deals
I would get their catalogues in the mail and LUST after everything there. They are great for car audio, but also had great home audio as well.by jardster - Tips and Deals
$140!!! And no wheels!by jardster - Tips and Deals
QuoteForrest That’s an interesting wall jack - never saw that before. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have an extra 50 feet of cable rolled up inside the wall. I suppose if you don’t want to cut the original connectors, you could coil up the extra cable in the utility room, and hang it on a wall hook. Right outside of the wall where the jack would be is an attic space above the garageby jardster - Tips and Deals
QuoteForrest Ok, the 200 foot Cat 6 cable should work fine. You’ll cut the connectors off and attach keystone jacks, which snap into a wall plate. Make sure you get the keystone jacks that match your cable type - solid wire or stranded wire. I was thinking of using a Keystone wall jack so I don't have to deal with removing connectors...by jardster - Tips and Deals
QuoteLux Interior My house was built in 2009 and I don't know why they didn't run Ethernet to every room. Well, they kinda did. The telephone wiring is eight wire twisted pair, but it is daisy-chained in some places and it all goes out the wall in the basement to the phone box. I am reluctant to re-purpose it as we still have a land line (I know!) and what if the next owner still wants POTSby jardster - Tips and Deals
QuoteForrest That cable should work, as long as you don’t mind having 50-100 feet of unused wire coiled up on one or both sides. Have you ever run Ethernet cable before? Do you know how your home is constructed and what are the materials? If not, you may want to hire a pro for a more professional look with wall plates, instead of a hole drilled with 50 feet of wire coiled up. The run would beby jardster - Tips and Deals
Seems like Cat 6 would work well. I assume something like this...by jardster - Tips and Deals
Quotechopper I'm on a wireless connection. Old house. Router in the next room behind plaster, lath and etc. My son's computer probably gets close to that, but it seems to be quite variable. In my hardwired office, I'm getting 664/613 and a ping of 6 ms (which I guess matters when gaming). Should be a fun project for the 2 of us over the Winter break.by jardster - Tips and Deals
I am going to be running internet to my son's computer. We've got plenty of wireless routers, but they just sometimes don't cut it for MS Flight Sim and other gaming. In my office I've got it run wired and I get 800 up and down. The total distance, from one end of the basement to the other end of the house on the 2nd floor, is 100-150 feet? I wonder whether Coax or Ethernet will be better foby jardster - Tips and Deals
I know it was discussed a few months ago, but it was time for my yearly call to SiriusXM because my rate was going up. I chatted online (at first with a chatbot but transferred to a live agent). Their current promotion is $8.49 per month- all in price with taxes and Royalty fees. It's a month to month, so can cancel at any time. This is actually less than I was paying before, so I was reby jardster - Tips and Deals
This describes if you are on silent, not sure if it works for DND... How to Enable Silent Mode Bypass for a Contact..... Instructions are about 1/2 way down. When you use Emergency Bypass, it says, "Emergency Bypass allows sounds and vibrations from this person even when the ring switch is seto silent, or when a Focus is on."by jardster - Tips and Deals
QuoteForrest Why do you pay for YouTube TV? I currently receive 75 channels for free with my attic antenna? can you get things like CNN, ESPN, Bravo with an OTA antenna?by jardster - Tips and Deals
Not surprising, but super annoying. We switched to Youtube TV when DirecTV lost the Sunday Ticket for football. YT TV has been pretty good, although if they increase the price year over year, it's going to look less and less attractive.by jardster - Tips and Deals
