I have changed several Power supplies in these G4's. I still have a classroom with 15 G4's in various flavors. Check this out, makes it easy to install a PC psu in a G4.

just fix up your weber. it will be good for years. or check craigslist for a used weber. I wasted so much money on snazzy shiny grills and they stunk. I bought a genesis last year and never knew how amazing I could grill without destroying the food! stick with the weber.

It will run better than you think. just avoid the newest version. find express 3.5 or pro v4. i use fcp 4 on single processors and its not terrible. put 1.5 gb ram in it and it will be ok. the big difference is the rendering time. But a DP 1Ghz will do well. Tiger does not support fcp 4. express 3.5or the current 4 is your best bet.

thank you for the info. I had 163MB in the preview folder. I tried a reset safari and it was completely deleted. Does this work for everyone?

Greetings, I adopted an old G4 with 10.1 server. I plan on using it in a classroom and need advice. My goal is to create a user for each student (50) so they can store their video and photo projects for their senior portfolios. I am using a newer mirror raid case with a pair of 1.5 TB drives. I do this often, in a school, and use carbon copy cloner. run this and copy your existing hd to the external. Install the new drive. Boot up on the external. CCC the external to the new internal. reboot and it will be like you never did a thing except gain space. I have never had permission issues doing this. well, one good thing is replacing the hard drive is not too bad to do. Drop in an 80 or 120, these newer 7200 rpm drives do help the performance.

I would like to shut down all audio outputs to a mac. I dont want audio from itunes, quicktime player etc to work with the sound portion of the logicboard. I realize I can not allow certain applications to work, but they tend to find ways around it. If the firewire streams work, thats fine. go to log and capture (apple-8) then on the upper right click capture settings, its now set to firewire ntsc, change it to non controllable device

It sounds like you have a head clog. try a cleaner tape or switch the capture settings to non controlable device to at least get the video in.
