I'd worry a lot more about the huge money that manipulates how our food is grown, managed, regulated. There is more harm there than most could even imagine. While been gradual... it's unbelievable how the safety and quality of the food supply in USA has declined over the last 3 decades as chemical/input use and dependency has exponentially grown. People who visit here from Europe literally talk aby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
All USB-C ports on all Apple Mac models shipping today are 40Gb/s with USB4 and Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4. They are all backwards compatible with USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB 3.2 480MB/s-5Gb/s-10GB/s in addition to the Thunderbolt 40Gb/s. The different between Apples Thunderbolt/Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 designations has nothing to do with capability the Thunderbolt implementation itself.by OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
The NAND producers have been losing incredibly now for some time... prices need to more than double from their lows to come back to profitability. They all seemed to cut production about the same time and it's quickly impacting. We're moderating - but it's not unreasonably to see 2X costs on 1TB and higher cap drives by summer vs. the low stuff. QLC and TLC NAND, until recently, has had a reallyby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
Quotemattkime About as expected. Nice, but not worth delaying a purchase. I'm curious if there will be a bigger difference in the higher end chips. I'd anticipate the delta on Pro and Max form M1/M2/M3 to be tighter than that of the base M1/M2/M3. And really - all of these are just so dang fast..... My only comment would be that I was surprised that the Apple Scary Fast event was not displayed above the fold.. had to scroll down a couple rows to find it... on a row the was dedicated, but all the same - not in any display block above the fold. Okay - not really about interface..... It is one of the less intuitive for sure. A lot of it is fine, but looking for your media and media in generaby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals

I do. I will be pretty shocked if it's not an M3 iMac next week... Not a threat to the M2 Max/Ultras. And to have a step up vs. the low end laptops on desktop.... and m2 MAX and Ultra still will be significant step ups vs. M3 + other benefits in those models vs. iMac 24" - so it's not hurting those higher end option.by OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
Not sure why they skipped iMac 24 with the M2... different Market... and the M1 already super fast for 95% out there... Apple Silicon is so fast for the consumer side, it's just beyond beyond. M3 though - here it comes. i'll be shocked and totally blind sided if next week these aren't M3 Macs including 24" that come out. I'd 2nd that... Been using Discount Tires in Austin area for last decade and always been easy to work with + will always match price, etc. I'd be shocked if they'd not match their online deal and then have normal installation cost+. Great warranty/service there too. Quotepdq Thanks. I’ll call the local DT and find out how much more they’ll charge for installation. Heck, maybe they’ll priby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
For a travel dock that works all the time and is truly in full spec compliance - there is a reason we've gotten the accolades for this one... For desktop / more stationary and more ports - I'd implore to go with Thunderbolt.. better performance, and with our stuff, much better power management and efficiency too. So many docks out there run hot all the time.. because they pull full power eby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals

The 5K Macs we have are a steal right now and actually will be going up in price soon... And either way - they are selling at a pace that has them gone before we even get to Black Friday and I promise that they will not be dropping in price. M1 / M2 is really a great option and you could use your existing iMac as an external display.... And then later get a better 4K or 5K external. No matby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals

I noticed a topic below on a Delkin CFe type B 512... for nearly $500. Technology is moving forward, fast... we were a little higher than that till recently actually. But the OWC equivalent 512 today is under $200... and is of equal capability, reliability vs. Delkin if not higher. I agree with the longevity of Solar Panels in general... and the newer panels, especially the USA made Sunpower, also have far better efficiency loss each year. The problem with much older panels that are getting to the 20, 25+ year marks - less about failure and more about - how much are they still generating. The external hardware is all bootable.... any limits are the Mac/MacOS... which you can currently do external boots with/from - just some hoop jumping depending on the OS version and especially with Apple Silicon Macs. We are actually looking to see that easier from OWC side in the future.... regardless of all that... As long as the PCIe card is Thunderbolt aware (all of our Acceleriors from the 1M2 to the 8M2 are, for example - and I most NVMe to PCIe carrier cards use chipsets in general that are), will work A-OK in a Thunderbolt PCIe chassis. Bootability is more about the OS and system. Currently there are options for all Mac/OS versions for external bootability even if not exactly Apple supported. Appby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
We haven't started into Obi Wan yet.... But expecting to enjoy it. Only 3 eps into SNW - and my son and I definitely enjoying it as you are. Quoteanonymouse1 Obi Wan started off pretty slow, but it's definitely picking up. It reminds me of the original trilogy-not as good, but of that calibre. YMMV. We get two types of units from Apple... ones with and ones without Apple warranty - in both cases these are factory refurb or repackaged new (battery cycles 2-4 suggest never used)... We don't get to choose and the warranty displayed is correct and system driven by true warranty parameter. You can extend the 90 day Warranty to up to 2yrs via OWC as an option on non-Apple warranty units. Oby OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
I am not sure... but is that an education version, etc? It's 7-Core GPU version - and not sure what else different other than $999 retail vs. the 8-Core version is a $1299.00 normal retail. Have to agree... I enjoyed Loki, and the Guardian series... With those watched, probably more enjoyment from this? Either way, looking forward to being entertained, which is the point. Wonder if a newer iMac 5K base would have even been closer or equal to the studio. What stinks the most is that Target Display Mode used to let us use iMacs as displays... that changed with 4K and 5K models of course.by OWC Larry - Tips and Deals
