that will do to boost antenna signal. has the tv been told to rescan its signal input since disconnecting the cable box? might be worth doing (or redoing) tv's newer than 2009 should be digital-capable. older ones, maybe not. june 12, 2009 was when us tv stations had to go to digital broadcast

I think that DHCP lease length is set by the router (which is running the DHCP server). For that, you have to login to the router itself (the IP address is shown above the 'Renew DHCP Lease' button in the TCP/IP panel). Since you aren't using a static IP address, you should check your DHCP lease length (the length of time your router will allow you to use your network IP address before it expires and must be renewed (or a new IP address assigned to your device by the router).
