Well, now, that's comment is particularly helpful. Thank you. It's not RAM, the issue is it's not multithreading. It takes 77 seconds to open my sample document, Excel spends most of that at approx 99% CPU, occasionally going as high as 130.(I have a 17,1 w/4 performance cores and 4 efficiency whatever that means, and I assume when it goes over 100% it's the OS making use of an efficiency core. Thanks, a fair amount of what I do I do outside of Excel. Sometimes it's something not easily accomplished in Excel, like fancy ass grep work. Mostly it's because I don't like a delay on something so prosaic as clicking on File in the menu bar, so I do as much as I can via python or r. But sometimes the cleanup is the equivalent of errant commas in a csv, or bad OCR, and using excel's filtersby Mike Johnson - Tips and Deals

Well, Happy Thanksgiving. I'm looking to replace my m1 MBP with something more powerful, and I'm thinking of doing it this weekend. My current machine has 16gb memory, and it's fine for most everything, except spreadsheets. I get big excel files, and I have to work on them and send them back as excel files. It's still on. The camera is covered. The most likely cause is somehow the light never turned off, rather than malware, but wither way I'm surprised it could happen. I haven't restarted because I've been trying to suss things out. It's been a couple weeks since I restarted the machine. Hi all. My Logitech webcam, attached to my MacBook, is on. I don't know why, don't know what process is using it. I've turned off all the apps requesting camera permission in the Security & Privacy panel, have no real apps (per the Dock) running besides Safari, which I've quit and reopened. Cruises are fine. We've traveled a lot -- our son's been to all fifty states and six continents. We've had a lot of adventures. I wouldn't mind going on a cruise tomorrow. If the freezer is froze, but the main compartment isn't cold, it's something to do with the air flow between them. It's the freezer that gets the coldness from the compressor, and the fridge gets its coldness from the freezer. The temperature in the fridge is regulated by a thermometer, which connects to the board, which sends a signal to open or shut the damper door as needed. It's been a while but when I bought a couple sheds, Tuff Sheds were markedly better than Heartland. So much beefier! and the guys came and just knocked them together in no time. Tten years on they still look great, one was moved during that time and I wasn't there but I heard it was easy. The only thing I did when they were installed was roll out some floor paint.
