I'm driving a 32" 4K Samsung monitor with my M1 Mini. Works swimmingly! ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Count me in as a "third" for Enpass. There is a fee which provides the ability to sync from one device to another, but using whatever service you choose. I'm just getting started implementing that on my QNAP NAS so my file is still entirely on hardware I control. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Came home to find the MacPro off and with no explanation as to why. When I hit the power button to restart I smelled that terrible 'electronic burning' smell so I simply diagnosed a dead power supply (which doesn't seem far-fetched on a now 11-year old computer!). Has anyone had good experience with a particular supplier? There's lots of online options, though few New PS options, so who's mby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
That won't be a problem! I'm running two or three cables into the 5.25" drive bay (can't remember now, but I've had three for sure at one time). They come from both the extra motherboard SATA cable and a SATA controller card. QuotePeterW For hard drives, does it matter if the connection is SATA II or SATA III? For SATA SSDs, same question.by tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Leader! Though I can't wrap my head around this one... Quotetuqqer - speakers sound like Bose. Serious dynamic range I still subscribe to, "No highs, muddy lows, must be Bose." ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
I've been using for years and swear by it. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
I've also used Duet for a few years, mostly with a MacBook Air (i7 2015 model) and 1st gen iPad Pro. I've always been very happy with it! ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals

QuoteSKYLANE (3) With regards to Office 365: I see this one works on computers and devices with up to 6 users (on one of the versions). So, what is one user? Is that one physical person regardless of how many devices they have? Or, is one user one physical installation on a device? Can one swap users/devices in-and-out of the mix of what is allowable? Just curious how this activationby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals

QuoteGareth I'm on a year of free service for being a "new" customer. Once that's over, I'm dumping them too, b/c the service is pretty bad where I am. But for ~$3/month in fees, I'll make it work for a year. Haha I did the same thing! Granted, it took me an additional 2-3 months to transition elsewhere (so I did pay $65-ish for those 2-3 months) but I'm now on a Verizon MVNO (Chartby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Apple Watch Series 3 here... It doesn't actually tell me the time until I "remove" my fingers. Not sure if that's the correct functionality or a processing delay... ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Anyone know if this supports link aggregation? The description says it supports QoS but a question in the listing suggests it doesn't support link aggregation fully. I'd like to link aggregate on my Mac Pro and QNAP NAS. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Evernote Even with the free version you can install the web clipper. The benefit of the web clipper is that you can save the URL as a bookmark, OR you can capture a "simplified article," which is basically the same thing as 'reader view' in browsers, so you can just read the article later on evernote and either throw it away, or mark it up with additional notes if you need it. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Quotesamintx Merger of equals...it says COMBINED not bought. Iger's a dreamer! I guess if by "combine" Iger means he'd be shown the door the second the deal was done then fine... At this point it's Iger's lie and he can tell it however he wants!by tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
It's amazing how people allow history to be re-written! Apple COULD HAVE bought Disney while Jobs was leading Apple. It didn't happen because Jobs knew it was a horrible deal and was a bad move for Apple strategically. There's NO UNIVERSE in which Apple would, or should, have bought Disney. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals

I'm very curious to hear other's experience here... I'm dealing with the same issue (toxic corporate culture) and just biding my time until I leave. I don't want to give two weeks, but everything you read says you should. I'd prefer to just walk out, but thinking that I should at least give 1 week. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
I was a long-time paid Dropbox user. I absolutely HATE their web interface! Maybe it can be customized and I never found that capability, but I hated it. So if users will need to access files via their website, DON'T DO IT! My company uses a paid Box.com plan as we're an all-MSFT shop. I actually like box.com better. It's just simple and makes sense. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Quotetestcase Don't carriers charge an EXTRA ~ $10/month to get that cellular feature? If so, then over and above the cost of the watch, add $120/year EVERY year you use it (plus taxes. fees, surcharges etc). Yes, but you don't have to activate it. I have the Cellular v3, which I bought so I can activate it for those months I'm using the watch heavily for training (and I hate carrying my phoby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals

CustomInk They have a service center here in Reno, I know a few people who've worked there. We've used them every year for our 'relay race' team shirts... so they've been worn, sweat in, wrung out, dried in the sun, washed on HOT, dried in the dryer and then reused several years in a row and most are still in great shape. As well, if you actually order in advance and get a shirt that's bby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Quoterjmacs Your problem description is incomplete: please detail what Mac model is in use, which iteration of MacOS High Sierra is installed (if known). whether the machine will boot into recovery mode, the format of the boot volume (HFS, APFS?), and any other details you may have omitted during your frantic initial post. Obviously it boots, but as soon as the OS starts up I get the "you've inserted a drive/volume that can't be recognized" and offers me the options to initialize, ignore or eject. Ultimately, within minutes I get kernel panics. The computer was fine on Thursday when I shut it down before leaving for vacation over the weekend. Today this all started at the first boot! I have two friends with different systems: Ring and Arlo. The Arlo system beats the Ring system hands down - features, video clarity, etc. Given what I've seen, I'd never waste my money on a Ring system! ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Air Pods. They really are your solution here. I've been using mine for 2 years for work and personal: Skype, GoToMeeting webinars, Adobe Connect webinars, phone convos, Zoom, etc. And I do all those things on varioius devices: iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, Mac Pro. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
As others have said: yes, but even better than Fitbit. Apple Watch includes GPS location data. So while the FitBit will only count your steps, heart rate, etc., if you don't have your phone it can't also overlay GPS location data (helpful for runners and other activity tracking). Last I knew, Fitbit was a closed system and will NOT exchange step data with Apple Health (this is part of why Iby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
I should say, many analysts made this call - I simply read their rationale and believed their analysis was correct. The stock has born this out since the rebound in January. They crossed the 50-day moving avg. to the positive in early Jan and reversed the 50-day avg. in late Jan. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
Active users were up "bigly" in the past quarter, something FB has been battling. I made a decent 'bet' on this exact thing this past quarter... thankfully the bet played out well and I'm riding the wave all the way back up to $200/share. ~Aby tahoedrew - Tips and Deals
