First review I've seen: Still not sure what the price in the U.S. will be (video refers to it being almost half the cost), but may be an attractive alternative to the Apple Studio Display, for some. I've been waiting for more information since the January announcement but this seems underwhelming at best. I guess I'm back to leaning toward Apple's Display or maybe going the 4K route...by StingMe - Tips and Deals
A couple of months ago I added a SSD from our sponsor then installed Mojave on a late 2009 i7 27" iMac and it runs circles around the 2015 21.5" iMac it replaced. I installed Catalina as well but ran into some issues with chromium browsers (likely just a software issue that may be addressed at some point so I plan to upgrade in the future). I have both Mojave and Catalina running very well on a 2009 iMac via dosdude's patcher for unsupported Macs There are some caveats depending on your particular hardware but everything is running smoothly for me except that the built-in camera doesn't seem to work with 3rd party apps (works fine with FaceTime and PhotoBooth but not Zoom). Collin (dosdude) clearly states in the support materialby StingMe - Tips and Deals
Is anyone's built-in camera working with 3rd party apps like Zoom after using dosdude's patch to upgrade the OS? I recently installed both Mojave and Catalina on an 11,1 iMac and the camera works with PhotoBooth and FaceTime but not Zoom. The support materials indicate that internal camera functionality seems to be hit or miss; a bit of a bummer but not really a deal breaker for this machine..by StingMe - Tips and Deals
Roughly two categories of use: (1) basic home/office needs of parents (likely go with cheapest option) (2) home office + moderate video and photo editing (more inclined to step up to NVMe) The 500 GB SanDisk can be had for $90 and the Pro for $120; also considering the Samsung T5 (SATA, $110) and T7 (NVMe, $130). As jdc mentioned, a lower capacity 2.5" drive + case can be had for less.by StingMe - Tips and Deals
I'm considering getting external SSDs to serve as the boot drives for some Late 2015 iMacs. Given that these iMacs don't have USB-C (but do have USB 3.0) will there really be much of a difference going from a SATA SSD to NVMe? Specifically, I'm looking at the SanDisk Extreme (SATA, 550 MB/s) or the Pro version (NVMe, 1050 MB/s) and could save some money by going the SATA route if there would bby StingMe - Tips and Deals
Is this for a one-off batch of files or on an ongoing basis for individual files? Making a quick "signature" of a handwritten date may be the easiest method. Acrobat will allow you to add a watermark or header/footer but it sounds like you may not have that. Automator can add a watermark image to PDF files. There are lots of sites that will add watermarks or header/footer toby StingMe - Tips and Deals

There are several emulators built into RetroPie - once you start to add ROMs the various systems will appear in the main menu (i.e. you will not see systems for which you have no ROM files). As you may have already found, extracting ROM files from pre-built images is not exactly straightforward (AFAIK). Even if you ultimately want to use the 4 I think the easiest solution would be to pick up aby StingMe - Tips and Deals
Apple's Numbers, Google Sheets, and others can import/export Excel files but what she does with Excel will determine if an alternative would be convenient enough to go that route. $100-150 for Office Home & Student 2019 (1 user license, not a subscription but doesn't include Outlook)by StingMe - Tips and Deals
Another nod to Gemini - it continues to work pretty well for me. I purchased it some time ago to deal with a TON of duplicate photos and video but have also used it for all kinds of files. There is a free trial that allows unlimited scanning but cleaning will be limited to 500MB of data. Gemini is also available via Setapp, if you're into that kind of thing ($5-10/month for access to 160+ appby StingMe - Tips and Deals
3-week free trial of YouTube TV versus the standard 1, this week only:by StingMe - Tips and Deals
With PS Vue being discontinued soon we are looking for a replacement and I think we've narrowed the viable options down to Hulu+Live TV, YouTube TV, or Sling TV Blue. We currently use FireTV devices and have an antenna as a backup for live locals (use Tablo DVR to distribute) as well as Netflix, and Prime Video. All three Live TV services offer the core channels we want, though only Hulu and Yby StingMe - Tips and Deals

I have a plethora of power supplies but the QX2's is internal...by StingMe - Tips and Deals
Any Qx2 owners around? Back in 2011 I picked up an OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 eSATA, FireWire 800+USB 2.0 and installed 4-2TB WD Black drives in it (RAID 5) and it worked well for a few years and then sat unused for a period of time. When I reconnected it to my iMac and powered it on it went through the normal boot process and the fan kicked in but the volume wasn't mounted and the unit bby StingMe - Tips and Deals

I just installed ScanSnap Manager v 3.2.91.1001 under MOSX 10.14.6 to run an older ScanSnap fi-5110EOXM. I've only scanned a few things so far but it seems to be working fine. Yes, this should work - just went through this myself setting up a 2008 iMac with MOSX 10.11. I was able to download and install the last compatible versions of Pages and Numbers from the "Purchased" tab once signed into the App Store. It should "just work" but I suppose this is just what we have to live with when running cutting edge hardware from a decade ago For otheby StingMe - Tips and Deals
