Quoteanonymouse1 Seagates have been the worst for me. Seagates used to be about the best, but that was years ago. When drives became commodity items selling for just a hundred or two the quality and reliability tanked. I still have some 20+ year old Seagates that run fine the occasional time I start up the systems. Can't say the same for newer drives from them or WD for that matter.by JoeH - Tips and Deals
QuoteN-OS X-tasy! Quotevision63 QuoteTiangou Famously misogynist. (Also, a convicted drug dealer and right-wing conspiracy zealot.) Not at all surprising. She stayed there and took the money. I must be the only human that quit jobs I didn't like. She was a child actor at the time. No, her part was playing the adult version of a character from the earlier movies in the TV series The Saby JoeH - Tips and Deals
QuoteDeusxMac QuoteOmbligo They were also split up by nationality, so Americans were not housed with British, etc, and also by branch. Quotekj Quotepdq Would you fire a flare gun 30 to 40 times at your neighbors, then take potshots (using a real gun) at police when they responded, before you blew up your house? This Law Abiding Responsible Gun Owner™ did. Hate to break it to you, but he is clearly not a law abiding responsible gun owner. Well apparently he was, until he wasn't. That change can happen all too quickly.by JoeH - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
Sounds like an issue with your TCL TV, not the Apple TV. I have mine connected to a LG TV along with a Comcast Flex box and a BluRay player and do not see that happening. I turn on the TV through the Flex or the BluRay and the Apple TV stays off.by JoeH - Tips and Deals
The word on the latest variants is that they tend to take longer before the at home tests will detect COVID. So it may take 3-5 days before you test positive. Or you could have gotten one of the other flu-like viruses going around.by JoeH - Tips and Deals
QuoteTiangou At the Friars Club, but I hear the Hollywood Palladium isn't too bad. ... First spatchcocked turkey and chicken were last year and they were too much work and while on the whole the results were very good, they weren't better than I get with the old standard. Part of the weight is the size, a 7 qt Dutch Oven will be heavier than a 6 qt one by 5-6 lbs. The lid made to also be usable as a grill pan on top of the stove adds a bit more weight, it will be thicker than one made just to be a lid. And yes you can have flame directly on the porcelain enamel, it would take temperatures near 1000 degrees to damage it. At most it may slightly discolor over tby JoeH - Tips and Deals
The town here will take waste oil for free at the transfer station. Not sure what they do with it now. But decades ago they had a waste oil burner they used for heating the public works building. I heard they discontinued that at some point.by JoeH - Tips and Deals

Quote For kicks, I searched for the model number of this incubator on partselect.com, and incredibly, the model came up as a refrigerator... which it isn't really, but is close in terms of design. Quite possibly it started as a standard refrigerator and was modified to the needs of being an incubator. Probably many of the parts are the same, but possibly the modifications may need adjusting tby JoeH - Tips and Deals

Musk is more libertarian than liberal, and I do mean that in the negative sense. But his fanboys and apologists keep making the mistake of assuming he has liberal leanings because a few of his goals happen to coincide.by JoeH - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
QuoteSDGuy note to self...per members of this forum, it is perfectly reasonable to walk out of a store with a cart full of stolen merchandise Note to you, that is not what anyone said. Quotepdq Sold out. BTW, how are you supposed to track stars with a Dobsonian and it’s flat, turning bottom? Seems like they ought to include a wedge of sorts on the bottom that will get you pointed the right way for your latitude. The wide field of view means it just needs small nudges to track. QuoteLemon Drop Visit a high end grocer like Whole Foods or Fresh Market to get the special varieties. Sometimes Costco carries them too. There's a dividing line? I like both and have since I was young. Though I have lived most of my life in the Northeast, I have family connections to the South where sweet potato pie originates from. Pumpkin was much more easily found in this area decades ago, but sweet potato pie is now about as common as pumpkin. Also like sweet potatoes roasted.by JoeH - Tips and Deals
