KK is a modern city there is a complete range of hotels to choose from including a Hyatt. I stayed at the Tanjung Aru-outstanding! Mattkime is right. You need a profile for your monitor and a profile for each printer/paper combination. Here is a good book on the subject. An alternate to the eye-one is Colormunki.

My nephew, a first year architectural student, "dropped" his new Mac Pro notebook. Reportedly it looked like a "W" . He took it to the Apple Store where they noted that that kind of damage was not covered, but offered to replace it for $200.

I don't know. All the current ones I've seen are APC . On another topic. Not all surge protectors are the same. I have used Isobar over the years with good results. The elcheapos seem to have nothing in them.

If you want to save some bucks you can get a refurbished unit with a new battery. The previous advice about AVR, surge protectors, cable/modem all seem right on to me. I use an IBM badged units made by APC. They have slightly better protection than the equivalent APC Smart-UPS 1500 unit .

I can attach images to outgoing mail with no problem. The attachments are there but the complete image also shows up in the body of the text. How can I suppress this?

Thanks for the suggestions. It now works. There are no kids and my wife is the only one who has touched the machine. I guess we know who the culprit was.

The backups are underway now. The extra files in software update concern me. They are not normal . The show up as having a size of zero but they are not empty, buried in the folders are folders with huge names (hundreds of characters). The names begin with lalala

They are text files from Microsoft Outlok or Exchange. You can see some of the text with a lot of gibberish using Text Edit
