QuoteztirffritzThere used to be an iDisk Utility for Windows. It listed the iDisk as an attached storage device if I remember correctly. Worked well. I can't find it on Apple's website anymore though. It is hard to find. It only works for XP.by pipiens - Tips and Deals
I ask them why they don't get a job that doesn't bother other people. After their response I tell them that I have put a curse on them such that they will have bad luck and pains in their back until they change jobs.by pipiens - Tips and Deals

There was folder that was corrupted. Deleting the folder did not seem to work. The problem was compounded by an alias that was now broken. Spotlight did not show any signs of the alias. I was not clever enough to read the logs in sufficient detail.by pipiens - Tips and Deals
I have been using Super Duper for years now. On Saturday I had my first problem. Tech support was outstanding. I got a series of very fast responses that guided me through the problem. It is great when things work well as SD usually does. Handling problems quickly and easily is the acid test of a great product.by pipiens - Tips and Deals
Not yet. I am still loading it up. I am doing a clean install. I do have backups but who knows what has crept in over the years. Lightroom is going in as I write this.by pipiens - Tips and Deals
I have an old 800Mhz G4 power book that seemed indestructible. It has been all over the world and has more dents than I have teeth. It has been from Antarctica to the equator many times and shows it. The super drive died a year ago. I had hoped to replace it with a new super portable 12" Mac Book pro. It died peacefully at home last week but Apple has not yet built the super portable thaby pipiens - Tips and Deals

My S.O. is a Photoshop junky. She has been waiting for the 8 core gizmo for some time. How might I configure it to maximize the performance? I have seen the reports that show negligible improvements for Adobe applications but I suspect that in real life - doing lots for different things concurrently ( lightroom,PS2,printing,etc ) The 8 cores might show their worth. In any event %difference in cosby pipiens - Tips and Deals
The crime is bad news. I go there often and have friends that live there. Taxis from Jo"berg airport are not safe. Use a car service arranged by your hotel. As bad as the cities are, once you are off the beaten track you will find some the best people on earthby pipiens - Tips and Deals

I have two of them. I had some minor problems putting the first one together but Anthro customer service is easy to deal with. They are a bit on the heavy side and you might need a little help setting things up. Anthro cuts price from time to time during the year so if you are not in a hurry you can likely save a bit. It is worth a phone call to check things out. Their phone service seems a stepby pipiens - Tips and Deals

Software has been in a downward spiral for a long time. In the 1960's I was involved in automating the Chicago Board of Trade. A redundant system was implemented using two DEC PDP-8s with a massive 12k of RAM ( 8k x12 bits per word). About 25 years later Tandem computers were making a big impact in the financial community with their "Non Stop " hardware/software. A friend who had wby pipiens - Tips and Deals
The Ipod transfer is very slow. If you check it out you will find that the battery will be gone long before a big CF card has been down loaded. I use the fire wire version of the NextoCF . It will down load about eight 4GB CF cards on one battery charge. It recharges via firewire. It can act as a external firewire drive to get the picture files into your computer. I don't own any cars these days but I do rent a lot of them in various places. I get a wide assortment from econ-boxes to premium. I like the Hyundai Sonata the best. The last two cars I had were an Audi A8 and a Lexus. . When I buy another car it will probably be a Sonata. There was a big model revamp in 2006 . They are now big cars. I think that a used 2006 could be an outstanding value. Thby pipiens - Tips and Deals
