can't read behind the paywall. but this is the sort of thing that a "free" society must guard against, lest we get too "scared" of hearing people shouting.by mrbigstuff - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
I think anyone "hanging around a bank" would be subject to much the same treatment. He was, apparently, not immediately arrested upon sight, so there is something to the argument that it was considered "trespassing." This is just a case of the police acting as bank security guards, as we have allowed them to be in our society (I'm guessing perhaps since the Jesse James era ofby mrbigstuff - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
I was hoping the answer to that was, "Quatro."by mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals
QuoteJoeH I saw the first movie. Special effects were great, the story was very so-so and predictable. It made no lasting impact on me, and I have no intention of seeing it again or any sequels to it. yup. very disappointed in the "story" as it could have been written without such ridiculous clichés.by mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals
well, very cool, because this is the brand of micrometer I have (inherited from my GF) and I've been wondering if I should repair it. (I don't have the large caliper, just the "normal" sized one.)by mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals
QuoteAcer A little taste of the flaws of the parliamentary system. A slate of concessions to get the vote of the most extreme nut-job in the room. I've been having this debate forever with friends who believe "if we just had viable multiple parties" many of our legislative problems would be solved. They simply fail to see that the wackos will have their concomitant parties as well.by mrbigstuff - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
Are "present" votes treated like an absence? That reduces the threshold, no?by mrbigstuff - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

this dysfunction may indeed presage demise, as does the hollowing out of SCOTUS. if these institutions are unable to engender trust, then the spine of the country is weak.by mrbigstuff - 'Friendly' Political Ranting
I've had no luck with anything! Seriously. I get bitten no matter what, so I have stopped using anything. And around here, you can get EEE in certain locales and times of year. I try to avoid those places as I'm so tasty to those bugs.by mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals

Quotegadje People in Moscow, Idaho were so frustrated before Christmas when they didn't have a suspect. All this time the police did their job properly, found the guy. tracked him down and collected DNA to build what seems like a very solid case in my non-expect opinion. I am not sure how large the Moscow, Idaho police department is, but I saw a comment that they had more victims that police oby mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals
Quotedavemchine Wow, speedy. Our coffee grinder cost $34 and looks a little like an egg. No brand. Says, “touch blade mill”. What would I notice if I upgraded? yeah, you do have a "mill" versus a grinder. a grinder does exactly that, it presses the beans between two discs with sharp edges that grind the beans. I have used both extensively, and the proper bean grinder will give youby mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals

QuoteN-OS X-tasy! My money would also be on Harry. They both spent time in the service, however, and both presumably received combat training, so who knows. I think it's an awful shame about this rift between them and about how it is playing out in public. yeah, same. I hope they mend fences for their own families' sake.by mrbigstuff - Tips and Deals
