We went there for our 15th Anniversary and loved it. We spent the whole time in the La Fortuna and Arenal area. We hiked around the volcano, swam in waterfalls, went horseback riding, zip lining, soaked in hot springs, etc. Looking forward to going back at some point and exploring the cloud forests and other areas.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
If people are selling these for $300, they are losing money. Even from Canada, they cost $300 per syringe (which lasts 2-4 weeks). Typical cost in the US is about $800/month.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
QuoteRAMd®d John Krasinski is my favorite Jack Ryan since Alec Baldwin. These are my only two considerations for Jack Ryan. I like Baldwin well enough, and didn't like anyone else. I read The Hunt for Red October the week after seeing the movie on the night of its release. It remains one of my favorite books and movies. Therefore, Alec Baldwin will always be Jack Ryan to me. I enjoyed seasons 1 and 2. I started watching the first episode of season 3 two nights ago but started it too late and fell asleep. Need to rewatch it earlier in the day. John Krasinski is my favorite Jack Ryan since Alec Baldwin.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
I saw the first one in IMAX 3D. It was one of the first movies that I remember being shot specifically for this format. It was good but actually gave me a headache because my eyes are very different and not the same strength post-Lasik surgery years ago. While I don't typically wear glasses and usually have no problems with 3D movies, the combination of 3D and giant, IMAX screen was too muby DavidS - Tips and Deals
I keep meaning to watch the Vampire Chronicle series on AMC. I've read all of her books and my favorite is The Witching Hour. However, the reviews I've read about this TV series were not favorable.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
QuoteFritz "What they don't say is that it is only on your T-Mobile cell phone. You can not use their free service on a laptop or other device. " I use the hotspot with my T-Mo service. Or do you mean T-Mo at an airport or the like? If so, never even seen that. The free T-Mobile service is still through GoGo or ViaSat, so you are using Wifi. You cannot activate a hotspot while inby DavidS - Tips and Deals
Interesting. The service through ViaSat is much much better than the horrendous service offered by the overpriced GoGo Inflight. However, if connecting over a VPN, the speed still deteriorates significantly. At least when it is unusable, I won't feel as bad, as I'm getting what I'm paying for. I love that T-Mobile states they already give free Wifi to their customers. What they don't say iby DavidS - Tips and Deals

QuoteJoeH QuoteForrest I have a 2012 i7 quad core MBP that I purchased about 18 months ago specifically for running older programs and games. It’s staying on Mojave forever. I have newer Macs if I want to run newer programs. I have a similar model, the mid-2012 dual core i7 MBP. It also is at Mojave and I doubt I will upgrade past that. I spent three of the hardest years of my life training at University of Cincinnati Medical Center (Internal Medicine Residency). Their Cardiology department is fantastic and definitely under-rated. Several of my former classmates/colleagues work there and some are Cardiologists. I have no doubt that he will get excellent care, but it's really up to his body and brain at this point. I use FastestVPN off and on. It’s okay. Not great with occasional connection issues. I got a lifetime subscription for their basic plan for $25 a few years ago.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
I'm headed to the airport NYE to pick up my wife and kid, who are flying out of NYC (JFK) on an 11pm flight and get in to ATL at 1:30am.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
Yep. I'm one of the few people I know who LOST money on AAPL. I bought 75 shares some time in 1999 at around $26 each. I sold them in early 2002 for $13 each because I had to free up some minimal amounts of cash (sold other stocks as well) and could take the loss for tax purposes. I re-bought in at $666/share many years later. It is doing well, but no nearly as well as it would have been haby DavidS - Tips and Deals
My LUV stock is dropping this week as much as my TSLA. I've always liked SWA except for them not participating in the booking system that every other airline uses. Perhaps that will change now.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
I dropped the Legacy Go Big plan last year at the last price increase. Changed over to YouTubeTV for $55/month ($10/month discount with T-mobile).by DavidS - Tips and Deals

My TSLA is still up about 800% from when I bought it, but I agree it may have topped out. I'm debating this also, but I want to buy something other than AAPL. I already am overloaded on my amount. I bought 20 shares of Disney when they first announced Chapek was gone and Iger was coming back. Any other ideas?by DavidS - Tips and Deals

QuoteSpeedy Do you have one of those pens that verify that the currency isn’t counterfeit? My thought exactly. Many years ago, I sold an unopened iPad through Craigslist. Only when I went to deposit the cash did I find out that the buyer gave me counterfeit bills. I hope your outcome is more positive.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
My wife and I just got back from voting. Fortunately the early voting location is a mile from our house (yet not our regular voting precinct). We waited for about 90 minutes. Of course the slow down was due to only four people checking in for 10 voting machines. Overall not a bad experience. The wait was consistently 2-3 hours over the weekend.by DavidS - 'Friendly' Political Ranting

I hope you are feeling better soon, cbelt3. My 21yo daughter had it when she was an infant. She was hospitalized in the Pediatric ICU for a week. After that, she got a monthly injection (Synagis) during cold/flu months to avoid getting it again until she was 5yo. My 19yo son came home from college last weekend and two days later spiked a fever to 104. He was a limp rag. Took him to thby DavidS - Tips and Deals
