Happy (day after my) Birthday bfd!!!by DavidS - Tips and Deals
Thanks to Rhonda and everyone else for the kind birthday wishes. I was actually planning on leaving my reply/response last night, but my wife surprised me by picking me up at work and taking me to Emeril's for dinner. She then surprised me again by telling me that she got us a room for the night at the new Intercontinental in Buckhead. She arranged for the babysitter to spend the night with thby DavidS - Tips and Deals
Nope. Not only do I have to work today, on my birthday, but I'm the "late doc" so I get to be here until 6pm and everyone else gets to go home early. They did this to my last year also. no respect, I tell you.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
Oldest Apple Computer is my //c, up in the attic in the original box (even have the rainbow Apple stickers). Oldest "Mac" is my Power Computing PowerBase 200MT, ugraded to a G3266 (overclocked to 300Mhz) that is still working and gets occasional use.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
At another place it seemed that there were so many off-topic posts that it would have been easier instead to have "OT" stand for ON-TOPIC and mark those instead. However, the off-topic posts are usually the more interesting anyway.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
It seems that they do have a limited number of walk-up tickets available for each time slot. Ours was sold out but there were plenty of people buying tickets at the window. They had a separate line for those with reservations.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
I've sold tix on eBay before to The Dead 2 years ago. He did Buy-It-Now for not too much over face value and we met 1/2 way to transer tix and cash. Didn't have to deal with PayPal fees that way. All went smoothly.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
I bought the Ryobi One+ drill/light combo on Black Friday for $30. It also comes with one battery and the one-hour charger. I've used the drill a handfull of times so far and it works great. Nice keyless chuck. I also got a new set of Ryobi drivers and bits for $15. I've heard that the cordless table/miter saws and circular saws are not that good. Not as powerful and the battery life isn'by DavidS - Tips and Deals
I'm in the process of reading Eragon and Eldest, the first two books in the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini. Very well written, especially considering that he was 15 when he started writing Eragon. However, it's only 2 books so far. I've also been a big fan of the Thomas Covenant series by Stephen R. Donaldson. I read the original and second trilogies when I was in 7-8th grade.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
Wow. TidBits is still around? Is it still run by Adam Engst (sp)? I used to get their newsletter in the very early 90s while in college and using my roomate's SE/30. I'll have to check out their website.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
We've used all different kinds for our Fuji 2600 camera over the last 4 years. 128MB is the largest they made, I believe. We've never had any problems with any of the cards. What size is he looking for?by DavidS - Tips and Deals
We just got back from the new aquarium. I bought annual passes for my wife, daughter, and myself (son is only 2 and free for the next year) online with a 20% off coupon (thanks Fatwallet). We only had about a 5 minute wait to get in, but we made reservations for 9:00-10:00. We got there about 9:30. When we left (around noon), there was probably a 30-45 min wait to get inside. I had already bookmarked Tempe's new site, but found this one thanks to "Tom". I thought all the posts were kinda funny and was curious how long they'd last. I had this site bookmarked at home, but not at work. Since I couldn't find the address anymore on DM, I posted a request for it on Macinforum this morning. Of all people, Tempe promptly posted the correct directions here. Thby DavidS - Tips and Deals
I got in at $26 (after split and subsequent decline several years ago post-iMac, pre-iPod), sold it a few years later at a loss (needed the tax deduction). Oh well. Apple is the main holding of one of my mutual funds that I bought with my sold Apple shares.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
It looks great. But, you have to get tickets about a week in advance. You can order them on the website for specific dates and times. Regular admission is $22.75/person for adults and $17/child (3-12). We are thinking of getting annual passes that will pay for themselves in about 3 visits. That way we can just go for an hour or so (or longer) as much as we want. I have a feeling thby DavidS - Tips and Deals
Howdy all. Wow. I just got here and 3 pages of posts to go through. I'll be up all night at this rate. Then again, someone just let me know if I missed anything interesting.by DavidS - Tips and Deals
