I have 150 shares of TSLA. It is up 981% since I bought it. However, it was up about 1200% before it (and the rest of the market) started dropping. I'm debating selling 1/2 my shares but nothing is really stable right now. I certainly do not want to ride it down but have a long way until I'm under water on it.

Anyone considering downgrading from Apple One? - 2 months ago

Microman - how difficult was the upgrade to Big Sur using the special patches? My main Mac is a mid-2012 Macbook Pro, which rarely gets used these days (due to having a work HP laptop). As much as I'd love an excuse to upgrade it to a new M2 MacBook Air, I can't justify the cost, so I'll probably go this route to use TurboTax next year.

I used to keep paper credit card receipts and reconcile them with the monthly statement, then discard them. I now simply review my bank statements (online) and credit card charges (online or monthly paper statements). That said, beyond reviewing the charges, I have not actually balanced the accounts in years.

So, we have Apple One, which is going up. We mostly need it for iCloud storage, Apple Music, and AppleTV+. We can get AppleTV+ through T-mobile, so I may unbundle it and just subscribe to the other two. It will only save me $6/month, but that still counts for something.

Being the son of a Holocaust survivor and grandson of a victim, I've grown up with this. It is in my DNA. None of the stories will be new or surprising. However, I still feel it is important to watch and important for my wife and kids to see it. We watched Part 1 last night. Will watch the other parts this weekend. Very well done, as typical for Ken Burns documentaries.

I haven't watched this past week's episode yet. I want to like the show (and will probably continue to watch it), but I don't find it as enthralling as GoT in its first season. Maybe because the shock factor is not there. Maybe because these are new characters, but we already know them in a sense and know what to expect. I'm hoping it improves.

Bedingfield is a graduate of my kids' high school. She was inducted into their Alumni Hall of Fame earlier this year and came to the ceremony. Afterwards, she stopped in to my son's AP History class and spoke with the students. He said she was very nice to everyone and answered all their questions about working with President Biden.

I'm enjoying it so far. I also like the single episode arc instead of the story line being stretched out over many episodes or an entire season. Without giving away too much in spoilers, I also like the references to Pike from TOS (i.e. "The Cage" and "The Menagerie").

I'm considering trying it out, as we currently pay $70/month for AT&T Fiber Gig speed and T-mobile would be only $30/month (we have a Magenta plan, which gives an additional $20 off/month). My concern, obviously, is the speed decrease. While we don't need gig speed, we do a lot of streaming and my wife and both do a lot of work from home in the evenings. Plus, we get free HBO Max right
