I haven't done any audio work in several years, so my opinions are based on not current information. I've use mackie gear a lot and am very familiar and comfortable with it. I have heard that Behringer gear is less reliable than Mackie, though that may have changed over the years. On the Amazon page you linked the Behringer looks OK and will do most* of what you need. If it were me I'd go with the Mackie for $20 more. *Keep in mind you won't be able to go directly from a turntable phono cartridge without a phono preamp. If you have a stereo receiver you could run your turntable though it and use the receiver tape (line) out to feed the mixer.

another vote for musescore. I use Finale. Sibelius is the other major scoring software. Both are way more dense and complicated for your project.

Ahoy Conflict Catcher! That could be tedious. Quotefreeradical I can remember the parade of extensions loading prior to OSX at boot time. IIRC, it could take several minutes for a mac to boot back then.

Pivoting monitor - 2 years ago

Anyone have recommendations on a monitor that pivots (landscape to portrait)? 24 inch ips $100 to 200. Was looking at an HP 24mh FHD on Amazon, but the description is vague at best on the pivoting feature. Plus HP support page says a driver is needed, but they only supply drivers for Windows. Perhaps Mac OS has that capability built in? Will be used with my son's Macbook 13 retina, about 20
