Liquid cooled. What do you think? - 7 years ago

I have a need for a G5 tower, and found one on Craig's list, 2.5GHZ, 8 gigs ram. Looking at Mactracker it seems that this was a liquid cooled model. I have my own drive with 10.5.8 and my software on it that I would install in this machine. I have misgivings on the cooling. Should I keep looking, or is this one worth $100? Thanks

Yes Gaffer's tape is good stuff, and (important) not the same thing as duct tape. Though they look nearly identical, not made for the same use. That model has firewire, right? Start in TDM and connect to your desk top to retrieve files off the MPB, then you can reformat as needed.

OS for 2010 MBP? - 8 years ago

My G5 tower died a few weeks ago, and a friend gifted to me a 2010 Macbook Pro she was no longer using. It's a 6,2 A1286 model with 4GB RAM. She kept the HD and I put in a 1TB disk drive and installed Snow leopard on it. What is the current forum thinking on the optimum OS for this machine? So far the transition from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 has been easy, and I would like to not have to update my PPC

Thanks Deckada, Yes, those are the guys - they shortened the name to Crusaders in 1971. As I said in my previous post, I found a page with the track I needed. I want to play it for my son's high school music teacher as a possible repertoire update for his jazz band at school. But thanks so much for the link to discog, I'll be keeping it for future reference when I'm looking for old LPs.
