Funny you should ask. Right now I'm in Maupiti, which is an off the beaten track island in French Polynesia. Bicycling past the idyllic houses along the road on a rusty beach cruiser I've been listening to soothing polynesian music that makes me feel like I'm in paradise. Quite a bit of it, though not all, is ukulele music which I know you like.

The far right nutters seem to have no reality-based strategy or end game. They don't seem to have any proposals that have a gnat's chance of passing. They are simply holding a gun to the economy's head and saying that if we don't give in to their demands to destroy all government assistance programs that most of the country relies on then they are going to pull the trigger.

Wow! This blows my mind. We are on a plane heading for a sailing vacation in Tahiti, hundreds of miles from anything. I just paid a mere five bucks for an hour of internet to message our host. Surprisingly, the connection is extremely fast. I had no idea that this level of service was available. Admittedly, they won’t let you stream videos etc but this works extremely well for web surfing, mess

This is an absolute game changer. Based on my experience with friends' and relatives' Teslas and other EVs, all EVs except Teslas are utterly useless for long distance travel because of the lack of reliable fast charge stations. Hopefully all of the other makers will switch to the Tesla standard. Also, it's my understanding that the Tesla connector is an open standard so perhaps this will bec

Note that there is another option. If you wreck a tire and the other one is on a driven wheel and on the same end of the car (i.e. front or back), then if the remaining tire still has most of its tread you can buy a single new tire and have the tread shaved down to the same diameter as the remaining tire. Usually way cheaper than buying two new tires.

For myself, it's Brian Cox and Neil DeGrasse Tyson, both physicists. There are others, but these guys are amazing for their keen insights, boyish enthusiasm, and simple explanations of complex topics. They are both in their own way successors to Carl Sagan who was also enthralled by the universe, but in a bit more pompous way. Here are a couple of short clips from them: Brian Cox:

As noted in the comments, this holds approximately 340 gallons. Water is 8lbs a gallon. If you fill this up, you're at about 2700 lbs or twice the rated capacity of a half ton truck (F150). Not to mention the weight of the four people in it, which probably bring it up to about 3000 lbs. Good way to wreck your truck.
